We are looking for a self-motivated Junior Accountant to support and grow with our Accounting team. The Junior Accountant works as an integral part our Accounting department to ensure organization, accuracy, and completeness of the accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities:
Managing inbound email throughout the day, saving attachments, answering inquires, forwarding queries to the appropriate individuals in the department.
Managing, processing and tracking all documents so they are organized and filed according to standard procedure.
Inquiring and reporting on any errors found in vendor bills, receiving reports and expense reports
Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
Update accounts receivable and issue invoices
Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations
Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines
Assist with reviewing of expenses, payroll records etc. as required
Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed
Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports
Assist team in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings
Carries out other related tasks and projects as required.

Qualifications:
Some experience with entry level accounting work
College or university degree or related certificate/diploma preferred (Accounting, Finance, Business Admin); minimum High school diploma.
Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Competent with technology and fast learner with new software systems.
Ability to communicate effectively, thoroughly and accurately in both oral and written form in English.
Excellent organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to prioritize work and manage competing priorities and time.
Strong interpersonal skills - demonstrates a positive, respectful and service-oriented approach to interactions with others and enjoys working as part of a team.
Ability to work independently, with a minimum of supervision; willingness to take ownership of a project with a demonstrated ability to work within tight deadlines.
Accuracy and attention to detail are essential.
Basic accounting principles an asset.
Critical thinking skills and good judgment.
Ability to work well with cross-functional teams and diverse groups of stakeholders.
Prepared to show initiative in improving existing processes and defining new ones.
Ability to handle stress and thrive in a dynamic environment.
