Travel Medicine and Vaccination Centre (TMVC) specializes in providing vaccinations and related medical services to travellers venturing to tropical and developing countries, and seasonal and occupational health services. Our 17 clinics are BC owned and operated, and we are proud to be local leaders in our sector for over 28 years.
Who are we looking for?
Are you well organized, have excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, and thrive in providing excellent customer service? We are looking for a friendly and energetic part-time/back-up MOA to join the teams at our Courtenay and Nanaimo clinics for 2 shifts per month in each location and additional vacation and sick coverage when needed. Perfect for a student, semi-retired individual, or someone wanting very part-time hours, this position will total approximately 20-28 hours per month. Must be available some evenings and Saturdays.
Duties:
- Greeting and intaking clients
- General office duties, including faxing and scanning and ordering office supplies
- Handling clinic flow and keeping the space clean and presentable
- Creating invoices and processing payments
- Explaining/selling services and products to clients
- Booking follow-up appointments
- End of day closing
Qualifications:
- MOA diploma or combination of the equivalent education and experience. We will provide training if you do not have formal experience and training as an MOA.
- Fast learner
- Work well under pressure and with multiple tasks
- Organized, efficient, self-directed, and reliable
- Excellent customer service skills (in person and over the phone) and a warm and welcoming smile
- Cash handling experience is essential
- Intermediate to advanced general computer skills, experience working with POS and booking software is an asset.
- Minimum typing speed 45 wpm.
