Manager, Marketing & Advertising – Optimum Mortgage
Optimum Mortgage is the residential lending division of Canadian Western Bank and we are the fastest growing business in the company! As the Manager, Marketing & Advertising, your primary focus will be the management and growth of the Optimum Mortgage Brand. You will be responsible for the planning, execution and implementation of marketing strategies to support the achievement of the business’ strategic objectives. You will be a leader in supporting our external sales force in strengthening broker relationships and contributing to growth of their territories as well as be responsible for the management and tracking of budgets for marketing and business development initiatives.

What you will be responsible for:
Create & implement annual marketing plan to provide strategic direction for the company
Plan, execute, and support company participation in tradeshows, conferences, and events, as well as marketing campaigns; plan implementation, reporting and ROI analysis.
Compile performance data to develop metrics that support decision-making for resource allocation and subsequent campaigns.
Recommend and/or participate in the creation, implementation and on-going adherence to processes and procedures that improve the efficiency and workflow of marketing initiatives.
Accountable for brand management and increasing brand awareness of Optimum Mortgage in existing and new markets.
Develop engaging content and send out weekly communication to database of clients; maintain client database ensuring CASL compliance
Maintain company website and all official company channels; create new content and updates
Responsible for building & maintaining all partnerships with industry associations
May be required to represent Optimum Mortgage at internal committee meetings as assigned.
Ensure support is provided for outside sales team in areas of marketing, and processing of monthly expenses.
Direct the activities of Snr. Marketing & Administrative Assistant to ensure support is provided to the VP and to senior management as required.
Act as third party liaison with printers, publishers, designers, and external vendors on production and delivery of marketing and promotional material to various assets.
Manage inventory, distribution, and ordering of promotional materials to external sales team.
Ensure compliance with marketing messaging and brand and visual identity standards. Develop and maintain collateral marketing materials to meet the needs of audience and sales team.
Track & manage the ongoing expenditures against budget for promotional materials, printing, media buying, tradeshows, sponsorships, and other marketing campaign expenditures.
The incumbent will have impact on the budget setting process through management and tracking of marketing and sales initiatives.
Develop competencies and processes required to create an effective and efficient marketing department.
Ensure effective hiring, orientation, training, development and retention marketing & support staff.
Provide supervision through observations, one-on-one coaching sessions, career development conversations and measurement of results to include performance appraisals and salary reviews.
Essential Education and Professional Experience:
Degree in Business with specialty in marketing, and/or communications or related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a hands on marketing role in which they are able to gain advanced knowledge sufficient to qualify as an expert, an internal consultant, or a resource to other qualified specialists in other departments.
Minimum 2 years of experience managing teams and/or multi-stakeholder projects with attributes to lead a high performing team.
Essential Personal Competencies:
Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail with the ability to prioritize in a high-risk and high-volume department.
Demonstrated strong interpersonal and customer service skills that contribute to working effectively in a diverse working environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent presentation and negotiation skills.
Excellent administrative skills with a strong attention to detail.
Strong proficiency in the Microsoft suite of products.
Experience with Sitecore or Wordpress is considered an asset.
Ability to develop and coach team members.
Effective decision-making skills and use of judgment
