Coordinator of Child Care Recruitment, Orientation and Training
The Child Care Team is seeking a qualified, passionate applicant to
join our Child Care Team!

The YMCA is the largest provider of child care in Canada and the YMCA of
Northern BC is the largest not for profit provider here in the North.
Currently, the YMCA of Northern BC operates at 12 locations -child care,
preschool and out of school care locations in Prince George as well as
Vanderhoof, Fort St. James and Fort St. John. We serve over 600 families
with over 80 staff.
The Child Care Coordinator of Recruitment, Orientationand Training is part
of the Child Care Leadership Team and reports directly to the Director of
Child Care Services. The ideal candidate has experience in the child care
field, is passionate about getting the right people recruited and trained to
be exceptional childcare workers for the YMCA. Having strong knowledge
of licensing requirements, Playing to Learn and supporting children who
have additional challenges is a key asset. This position requires strong
organizational skills in order to complete child care reporting, as well as, to
ensure that all required human resource processes have been completed
with all new hires. This person is a strong team player who contributes to a
healthy work place environment.

Major Responsibilities and Abilities:
- Recruit child care staff
- Orientate and train new staff
- Complete all necessary HR/ Hiring requirements
- Support all aspects of training of childcare staff – practictively, to improve quality of care and reactively
when supporting challenging behaviours
- Child care reporting including $10 day prototype reporting
- Good Computer Skills – familiar with Microsoft Office programs.
- Self motivated and able to work with limited supervision
- Able to communicate clearly through a variety of methods with your supervisor, families, collegues,
licensing officer and other community members as needed
- Ability to prioritise tasks
- Provide coverage to other team members when required
