Industry Solutions seeks to create various avenues that support industry collaboration in order to improve productivity and competitiveness of businesses and whole industries in Alberta and beyond. We do this by partnering with individual companies, industry associations and government to deliver deployable solutions to problems identified by businesses and industries as being critical for their future.
The Centre for Innovative Media (CIM) enables industry clients to compete more effectively within an increasingly digital marketplace. CIM supports Albertan companies in the development of software and digital content innovations to solve the problems these businesses have identified as being most important to their continued success. Applications of these digital solutions include effective workforce training using virtual / augmented reality, capturing and analyzing data, and building simulations for digital twinning. CIM also works with industry partners to support clients’ understanding of the ways in which innovative software solutions may transform their operations. Our team works with these partners to develop the digital tools and content they require to bridge the gaps between their current capabilities and what they need in the future.
Traditional resource-based industries have been slow to adopt digital innovation in support of their operations and are not capitalizing on increased productivity that comes with digital media. Our goal is assisting Albertan companies to compete globally. CIM provides an unbiased platform for technology testing and validation in an effort to support digital technology adoption across all sectors of Alberta’s economy.
