The Cybersecurity section, located at 600 de La Gauchetière Street in Montreal, is currently seeking a Security Incident Response Advisor. This sector includes security incident monitoring and management. The sector’s mission consists of monitoring cyber threats faced by the Bank and proposing solutions and improvements to ensure effective response.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Cybersecurity Incident Response, you will act as an expert and advisor for the security incidents response team. You will work with the team to improve our detection methods and increase their effectiveness. You will also be responsible for sharing information with the various teams to optimize our processes and our monitoring posture.
More specifically, you will be required to:
Act as the incident response team expert and representative for the other Bank sectors.
Investigate complex cybersecurity incidents.
Prepare and oversee incident simulations (Tabletop) based on lessons learned from past incidents and other attack examples.
Oversee the implementation of required process improvements following audits and lessons learned from incidents and exercises, in the spirit of continuous improvement.
Maintain the backlog of required improvements.
Act as the team’s resource person for validation of audit issues.
Monitor market trends in terms of security incident response and propose necessary improvements to the team.
Understand the team’s performance metrics and indicators and propose improvements.
Contribute to major security incident investigations and resolutions.
Influence and support the achievement of the team’s strategic objectives.
Help maintain and increase the team’s competencies in relevant fields.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 10 years of relevant experience
At least 5 years of experience in a constantly evolving work environment
Have a solid grasp of Security Operations Center (SOC) principles
Have an excellent understanding of all cybersecurity activities
Ability to work in a team and garner respect as a leader
Recognized as an agent for change and able to influence others
Excellent ability to analyze and summarize, ability to explain concepts to stakeholders
Excellent analytical skills, able to learn quickly and resolve complex situations
Creative, innovative, and capable of rethinking/redefining working methods
Bilingual (spoken/written) French and English mandatory
