Through our Youth Addiction Services program, Ray of Hope is about helping youth and families affected by addiction become healthy adults through holistic, safe, trauma-sensitive treatment services. We help young people understand themselves, address the challenges they are experiencing, and grow their executive function skills, so they can deal with life in healthier ways
The Overnight Worker provides direct care and supervision to residents in the residential program during the overnight hours. S/he implements the treatment plan to the extent s/he has contact with the youth and may provide individual support to residents as needed. The Overnight Worker also supports the overall smooth running of the program by performing duties such as cleaning, laundry, cooking, and data entry.
The Starting wage for this position is 17.06 per hour.
Provide supervision to clients in all activities.
Maintain adequate knowledge of each client's specific needs and treatment plan.
Address clients' needs as assigned and required by the program.
Establish and maintain a positive rapport with the clients while ensuring therapeutic and professional boundaries are maintained.
Actively participate in regular supervision with the assigned manager to ensure personal professional competency to carry out duties and facilitate professional growth.
Respond to client requests in a responsible, timely, and flexible manner and within the appropriate scope of practice, and implement crisis and safety plans developed by clinical staff (prime worker, case manager).
Maintain all resident and program files in a professional manner.
Accurately record any relevant information concerning clients in Case Notes, Log Book, Incident Reports, Master Calendar, and complete other required reports.
Supervise the clients' medication use, and document medication use and other related medical issues.
Complete regular program-related duties and routines as required to have an effective, efficient program.
Directly and indirectly assist in maintaining the overall cleanliness of the facility through, cleaning, laundry and in food preparation, and safety. This includes holding residents to account for their participation in housekeeping activities and facility cleanliness, as well as their participation in food preparation and safety.
Note: as an overnight worker, you will be required to complete housekeeping duties and cleaning.
Provide safe and secure transportation for clients when needed.
Maintain safety and security of the facility.
Complete Shift Lead activities as required utilizing the support of on-call as needed.
Complete data entry tasks as assigned.
Other duties may be assigned from time to time.

o Minimum requirements: College diploma (two or three years): Social Service Worker, Child & Youth Worker, or Addiction Counsellor
Previous experience working with youth, preferably at-risk youth preferred.
Previous placement experience (paid or volunteer) in the field of psychotherapy, addiction counseling or social work an asset.
