With approximately 2,900 employees, JBS Food Canada ULC (“JBS Canada”) is one of the largest employers in southern Alberta and one of Canada's largest beef processors. Consisting of three locations—the Head Office and a Case Ready plant, both based in Calgary, Alberta, as well as a processing facility in Brooks, Alberta, where approximately 4,200 head of cattle are harvested and processed daily. The JBS Canada Brooks facility has the capacity to produce products ranging from boxed beef primals, ground beef, beef trimmings, beef by-products and hides which are shipped across Canada and worldwide. At the multi-protein Mountain Creek Farms case-ready facility in Calgary, JBS Canada produces value-added products including marinated, portion sized, multi-pack options, kebabs and much more.

JBS Food Canada is seeking an experienced, ambitious and highly motivated Manager to join its dynamic team in servicing the retail and food service sectors in Canada. This is a senior management-level position and reports directly to the Director of Canada/US Sales.

Specifically, the duties associated with this position include the development and implementation of a strategic pricing strategy including, but not restricted to:

You will:

  • Develop and implement the Pricing Strategy
  • Monitor all Sales Representatives pricing for JBS facilities in the U.S. and Canada as well as internationally for all products including Trim, Offal and Boxed Beef.
  • Review product availability as well as projected product availability.
  • Manage spot pricing activities related to Multiple Primal products. (roughly 2.2B in revenue)
  • Monitor production practices/limits
  • Monitor and review forecast product availability vs. actual production
  • Provide pricing support and guidance to all sales teams on Multiple Primal products.
  • Work directly with Scheduling and Operations management to enhance processes to make the most of efficiencies and ensure a timely response to market conditions to maximize margins.
  • Monitor and track feedback from sales people, futures markets, live cattle markets, and business trends to set both daily and out front pricing for the company.
  • Work with various aspects of the business to recommend best approach to pricing strategy in an effort to enhance profitability.

You Have:

  • Knowledge of seasonal trends in the retail, distribution, and food service market channels
  • Excellent communication skills written and verbal
  • Previous experience (minimum of 5 years) within the Beef Industry.
  • Experience in developing and implementing Pricing Strategies
  • Prior experience in Sales, Distribution, Logistics and Business Operations.


  • Post-secondary education in business administration, Marketing or Animal Science is preferred. Experience:
  • Minimum 5 – 7 years’ fresh meat industry sales experience.
