Food Cycle Science Corporation designs, sells and distributes food waste management technology products that eliminate the dependence on landfills. We are revolutionizing food waste management by offering a unique product that creates sustainable food waste practices and takes everyday food scraps and transforms this into nutrient-dense, garden-ready fertilizer in approximately 4 hours for both commercial clients and consumers. We promote an environmentally sustainable life cycle, reducing landfill GHG emissions and reducing the exorbitant cost of food waste management.

We are in a new and emerging sector for food waste management. Food Cycle Science has been selling its product, FoodCycler and has been featured in Fast Company Magazine, The New York Times, The Globe and Mail and many others. As an early-stage startup, you can get in at the ground level and help us take the business to the next level by building relations with both resellers and organizations that will benefit from our revolutionary product.

As a small, yet nimble business, we’re a young entrepreneurial company on the cusp of exploding in North America and across the globe. We are financially backed through funding and revenue. Our solid management team and advisors are looking for an experienced Operations Manager who will wear several hats. What is important to us now is building our distribution network globally and developing the municipality sectors. Key responsibilities of this role include developing and building new sales channels into geographic regions, servicing existing clients, developing the sales avenues into the Municipality sector, assisting with marketing and outreach, and ultimately supporting the Executives to grow the business.

OPERATIONS MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Operations Infrastructure

Set up the global Supply Management and Logistics processes and systems to support the revenue growth across geographic regions and residential, commercial and municipal sectors.

Build and maintain a competitive advantage by identifying issues, resolutions and future opportunities.

Implement processes to reach time-to-market and time-to-volume success with new products being introduced.

Escalates time sensitive/important issues to senior management as required.

Introduce daily and weekly performance (dashboard) indicators and highlights trends to senior management.

Support the contract manufacturing and warehousing relationships to improve quality, reduce returns, increase inventory flexibility and improve cost structures.

Prepare project plans, track the dependencies, budgets and deliverables, and evaluate results post-delivery.

Solicit and capture input for future product development and work with the engineering team to evaluate and prioritize enhancements or upgrades.

Support the sales process and implement the initial Municipality agreements

Evaluate the processes and make recommendations for improvement based on continuous learnings.

2. OEM Agreement Account Management

Provide account and product management skills with our new OEM partners, and successfully implement the strategic OEM agreements

Be the Food Cycle Science single point of contact for the initial product launches into the market in 2020.

Lead the project management of the OEM and Food Cycle Science resources to ensure alignment of project plans and successful execution, including Sales and Marketing, Contract manufacturing in China and logistics, Engineering, etc.

Prepare project plans, track the dependencies, budgets and deliverables, and evaluate results post-delivery.

Develop strategies to maximize sales for the OEM and Food Cycle Science that will exceed the contractual obligations

Project manage the introduction of the next generation Food Cycler into the OEM sales and distribution plans

Solicit input for future product development and work with the engineering team to evaluate and prioritize enhancements or upgrades

QUALIFICATIONS

In our fast-paced start-up environment, we are looking for a self-starter who has the experience to jump in from day one and has a passion to help grow the FoodCycler opportunity and can juggle many hats and get stuff done.

The ideal candidate will have:

3-7 years of experience in Supply Chain management and/or Product Development or a similar role

Experience taking products to market through working in a product management, project management, factory relations or procurement environment

Experience or exposure to a sales environment, and possibly accountabilities for a target market and sales quota

A post-secondary education in business administration, marketing, engineering or related field of study. Equivalent experience will definitely be considered

Product experience in a global market will be an asset

Strong communication, collaboration, negotiation and persuasion skills

Attention to detail is a passion and a competency that you’ve been praised for demonstrating

Self-aware and ability to lead and inspire others when not directly responsible for managing performance objectives

Ability to manage and understand client expectations, creating solid and effective processes to support continuous improvement and growth.

Ability to deal with chaos and ambiguity and a proven problem solver

A flexible team player to work through issues and work with a calm and collected attitude

Working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Programs and Microsoft Office applications. Supporting a migration from Excel to an ERP would be an asset.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $60,000.00 /year
