Overview:
Drew’s Catering & Events has earned a reputation for service excellence, and we welcome individuals who are customer-orientated, display initiative, possess strong organizational skills and a knack for finding creative solutions to join our team. We are currently seeking an Event Management Assistant to join our growing team.

The Event Management Assistant plays a critical role in Drew’s Catering & Events success by working directly with the Event Sales Manager and Logistics Manager to ensure event details such as timeline, set-up details, and supplies are all communicated to our Events Team effectively to provide top-level service for weddings and staffed events.

This is a part-time, entry level role which would provide immediate experience in the events industry. You would be working directly with our Events Team in a support role to plan execute memorable events for world-class brands and organizations.

As the initial introduction to Drew’s Catering & Events, this role requires the right person to be organized, detail-oriented, solutions-focused and hold themselves to a high professional standard – all with the goal of working with top brands and clients to make their vision a reality.

Compensation::
Rate: $15-$17/hour

This is a part-time position suitable for someone looking for an entry to an event management career. This role has the potential to develop into a full-time role for the right candidate.

Ability to work evenings and weekends is a must. A valid drivers license and/or vehicle is an asset, but not mandatory,

Key Responsibilities::
  • Organize event timelines, packups, and equipment for staffed events
  • Attend site visits and venue inspections
  • Coordinate event details with our Service Team and scheduling staffing
  • Have ‘can do’ attitude with a focus on finding solutions
  • Attend on-site events to assist with set up, service and takedown
  • Organize booking and event details such as delivery times, timelines, and set-up plans
  • Weekly meetings with Operation and Kitchen Teams
  • Printing and organizing event BEOs Kitchen and Operations Teams
  • Interacting with various vendors for event equipment and supplies
  • Effectively communicate with Event Booking Manager and with members of other departments
  • Site Visits, Tastings, and Client Meets including securing new accounts
  • Printing orders for the Kitchen and Operations Teams
  • Interacting with various vendors for event equipment and supplies
  • Go the extra ‘mile’ to drive sales
  • Build productive trust relationships with customers
  • Have excellent working knowledge of products and services
  • Ability to suggest options based on event type and to upsell menu selections
  • Effectively communicate with Event Booking Manager and with members of other departments
  • Observe and work towards forecasted goals
  • Work with Event Booking Manager to create personal sales goals, discuss ideas and ways to improve efficiency and share experiences
