Purpose of the role
At Litwiniuk & Company, we are obsessed with providing mind-blowing client service. We are always finding new ways to serve our clients and are looking to add a Real Estate Paralegal to our team to provide high-quality client service alongside strong administrative and operational support to our lawyers.
How you would contribute to our team:
Manage and maintain files in a logical and orderly manner including accurately documenting all data in our file management software
Maintain client contact, responding to all client inquiries within 24 hours
Meet with clients to swear/affirm and sign documents, to provide updates, or to answer questions as required
On direction of lawyer, send various letters to clients, lenders, condo managers, law firms, and other relevant parties
Conduct various searches and conflict checks
Open and close conveyancing files, including purchases and sales, mortgages and refinances
Follow instructions from lawyer and accurately transcribe lawyer dictation
Draft and prepare documents including but not limited to contracts and other legal documents
Manage schedule for assigned lawyer including booking travel, client meetings, etc. as necessary
Work collaboratively with the team to provide assistance and coverage on other client files as necessary
You would be great in this role if you:
Are adaptable and quick to identify issues or needs, and can accommodate last minute requests and situations
Are capable of proactively anticipating needs and reacting quickly through developing an analytical approach and thorough understanding of the business
Have exceptional time management and pride yourself on exemplary organizational skills including but not limited to management of email, digital files, and processes
Are highly knowledgeable and efficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Are a self-starter and demonstrate a history of holding yourself accountable
Have 5+ years experience in a Real Estate role (Experience with Wills + Estates would also be an asset)
Are familiar with PC Law and DoProcess
Have completed a Legal Assistant Diploma/Certificate from a recognized institute
