What is the role?
The Banking Analyst is responsible for reconciling bank and deposit accounts, analyze accruals, prepayments and other accounts and assist store operations with their financial transactions. This role is suited for someone who has experience with reconciliations, cash management, and has strong accounting experience. And working with a great team means this role will be challenging, career-expanding and fun!
What will you do?
Prepares cash management transaction entries from online bank statements into NAV system
Analyzes prepayments and accruals of selected expense accounts including insurance, bank charges and interest
Reconciles corporate and store bank accounts as well as credit card clearing accounts
Prepares periodic and annual schedules for certain asset and liability accounts
Investigates Enhanced Positive Pay cheque exceptions where applicable and recommend corrective actions where necessary
Initiates stop payments as requested
Assists in resolving cash reconciliation questions or issues as necessary
Maintain financial institution relationships as necessary
What you bring:
Degree or Diploma in Accounting
Minimum 5 years experience in reconciliations, cash management transactions and accruals
Experience working with a large retailer or CPG company is an asset
Strong analytical and accounting skills
Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Excel (pivot tables & v-lookups) and MS Word
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Pro-active, able to prioritize, and work independently
