We are seeking a motivated, energetic, customer-focused Outside Sales rep focusing primarily on HVAC product working out of our Brantford branch.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Maximize Sales Growth in assigned territory by:
  • Increasing sales to existing customers
  • Building relationships with new prospects and turning these relationships into revenues
  • Providing our customers with a level of service that is easily recognized throughout the industry as “the best”
  • Utilizing a professional sales process that includes:
  • Prospecting
  • Networking
  • Goal setting
  • Time management for success
  • Target account management
  • Call planning and reporting
  • Sales forecasting vs quota
  • Schedule personal calls on customers using a call schedule submitted in advance to the Sales Manager; rate customers per sales or sales potential
  • Promote the Company’s E-Commerce site to customers
  • Maximize GP levels on all product sold
  • Compare sales each month and compare YTD with LYTD; discuss decreases with customers to determine what can be done to increase sales (pricing discounts, deliveries, order desk, counter, etc.)
  • Keep customers up to date on requested orders, company changes, vendors, new products and specials, promotions and counter days
  • Review open order report with customers to review old orders, returns, new orders, etc., and discuss with customers on each sales call
  • Trouble-shoot & assist customers with any concerns/issues they may be having
  • Complete customer quotes ASAP
  • Maintain accurate and complete call information on weekly call sheets
  • Turn in call sheets and expense information to Accounts Payable monthly
  • Maintain an updated list of each customers’ special “NETS”, discount and product overrides and follow up on any open bids
  • Check Accounts Receivable sheet for any amounts in excess of 30 days, etc., determine why there has been no payment; set up time with customer to resolve issue and pick up cheque
  • Participate in continuous product training to maintain thorough knowledge of industry and competitive trends


Qualifications and Skills

  • 3-5 years HVAC sales experience with demonstrated product knowledge
  • Plumbing, PVF and mechanical experience/product knowledge a definite asset
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and commitment to customer service to develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with our suppliers and customers
  • Excellent organizational skills to effectively prioritize tasks and maintain an abundance of paperwork
  • Good working knowledge of all areas of the Eclipse wholesale ERP system
  • Ability to utilize standard office equipment, including computer, phone, copy machine, fax machine
  • Ability to meet strategic goals and objectives with little supervision
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high pressure for results
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement, analyze the importance of situations and respond appropriately when dealing with suppliers, customers & employees
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record and have reliable transportation to travel to customer locations
