In your role as a Recruiter for the Iqaluit NCR Stores at The North West Company (NWC), you will successfully execute the recruitment plan for Iqaluit stores and the opening of the new Astro Hill location. Identify, source and attract high performing talent and passive job seekers for roles within the Iqaluit market.

Utilize existing recruitment and on-boarding processes, systems and tools to efficiently source, assess, select and integrate new hires to front line associate store;
Support the NCR Recruitment team to source local talent for Store Management teams in the Iqaluit market;
Screen resumes, conduct interviews, recommend candidates for further consideration and hire;
Manage employment offers, and oversee and manage the onboarding process with candidates that are hired;
Participate in career fairs, liaison with external agencies where required, and manage employee referral program. Seek employment partnerships with local and regional organizations and take advantage of local training sponsorship opportunities;
Develop local recruitment strategy to attract candidates to the store and or other locations as required;
Stay abreast of recruitment best practices and share with team members;
During recruitment activity, gather competitive industry information regarding salary, benefits, and employment practices. Report this information to the HR team to generate insight on ongoing development of HR strategy; and
Serve as a coach to management positions on the delivery of the recruitment strategy. Actively promote our unique value proposition and affirm our position in the Iqaluit market.
Desired Skills & Experience:
An undergraduate degree, ideally in business, human resources or a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education/training and experience;
Previous retail and/or procurement experience is considered an asset;
Previous recruitment experience, or knowledge of recruitment/hiring processes is considered an asset
Proficient MS Office skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint);
Employs sound judgment and possesses an excellent ability to interview and assess people;
Exhibit knowledge of hiring practices, behavioral-based interview techniques, tracking processes for applicants and open positions;
Strong organization skills and ability to manage confidential information;
Ability to interpret company policies, procedures and practices;
Excellent interpersonal, communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with candidates and business partners;
Competent networking skills to build talent pools supporting the recruitment process;
Proficiency with reporting tools and databases is considered as an asset; and
Ability to work independently, under little supervision; works well under pressure and time constraint.
