Drayton Valley is located in the Central Zone, just 139 km southwest of Edmonton and 172 km northwest of Red Deer. The town has a population of over 7,000. Reporting to the Area Manager, the Manager – Home Care is a key leadership role responsible and accountable for direction, team leadership and organization over the activities of Home Care while supporting the vision, mission and business plan of Alberta Health Services. The Manager- Homecare, is responsible for maintaining standards of the Homecare program; ensuring consistency in the delivery of patient and family focused care and accessibility of service through interaction and collaboration with internal and external partners and participants. In this leadership position, the Manager- Homecare will make key decisions in the development, implementation and evaluation of the overall strategic and operational plans contributing to the achievements and goals of the program. The manager provides guidance, mentorship and plays a key role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and health maintenance, in the team providing safe, quality patient and family centered care. The Manager - Homecare: Facilitates and maintains effective working relationships with Home Care contracted service providers and with other AHS community partners. Recruit and select staff to meet operational needs; coordinating staffing and clinical work. Within a collaborative team works to develop job performance within direct reports but also with manager peers both formally and informally. Manage the operating budget, plan and determine the allocation of resources, authorize and control expenditures, and will be accountable for the resources in the portfolio. Reviews monthly and yearly budget expenses to identify trends and potentials for savings. Investigates variances; accountable to balance costs and expenditures within identified budgets; authorizes expenditures as per AHS guidelines and in compliance with AHS procedures and policies.

Bachelor’s Degree in nursing or other health related profession. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Possesses a valid AB driver’s license. Minimum of 2 years of Home Care experience within the last 5 years.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year experience in a leadership capacity. Within a collaborative team work to develop job performance within direct reports but also with manager peers both formally and informally.
