Systems Analyst

Fernlea Flowers is looking for a dynamic Systems Analyst to join our IT team for an exciting opportunity in our already established but rapidly growing company.

Fernlea Flowers is an 80 year family owned producer and supplier of wholesale bedding plants located in Courtland, Ontario between Tillsonburg and Delhi. Our US locations include Stuart, FL, Jupiter, FL, Homestead FL, and Carpinteria, CA. Fernlea has grown to become one of the largest suppliers of garden plants in North America.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in the field of computer science, information technology, engineering or information systems

5+ years experience in Systems Analysis

Strong skills in information technology, a wide variety of programming languages, hardware, software, and analytical skills

Develop, analyze, prioritize, and organize requirement specifications, data mapping, diagrams, and flowcharts for developers and testers to follow

Confidence in managing system enhancements, new releases or projects typically focused on a specific product/system/application of moderate scope and complexity

Ability to develop strong relationships and work with senior leadership as well as across functions.

Proven ability to assess business needs and translate them into relevant solutions

Strong understanding and knowledge of the principles and practices associated with database maintenance and administration

Experience installing, configuring, documenting, testing, training, and implementing new applications and systems

Monitor a project’s progress to ensure that deadlines, standards, and cost targets are met

Discuss users’ needs and determine vulnerabilities or areas of poor performance to boost productivity, efficiency and accuracy in our computer systems

Research and evaluate emerging technologies, including both hardware and software

Train the system’s end users and write instruction manuals

Special considerations given to candidates with:

Project management experience

Exposure to robotics technology

Mobile development

Experience with IDE’s such as Visual studio and Android studio,

Java, JavaScript, PHP, C#, Python, .NET, SQL, MS SSIS and XMLw

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $80,000.00 to $90,000.00 /year
