The opportunity

The Senior Analytics Product Manager leads the research, identification, selection, implementation and ongoing management of analytics related technologies/vendors used across the business at Ontario Teachers'. You will work in partnership with technology teams to ensure the analytics platforms and associated technologies are managed/configured optimally for required workloads. You will also seek to maximize business utility/value from analytics software in use at Teachers’ and enables related training programs and communities of practice.

Who you'll work with

You will collaborate and consult across a diverse group of key stakeholders, incorporating the assessment of general best practices, opposing opinions, and industry standards to provide sound recommendations and group consensus, when required.

What you'll do
Management of our existing analytical platforms and exploring new products/tools/features for future needs
Collaborate with infrastructure, security and delivery teams to evaluate the benefits, costs and risks associated with analytics platform maintenance, selection, and success.
Design, implement and support environments to enable large-scale, distributed analytics
Lead platform upgrades, manage production change requests and incidents
Research, test and make recommendations on enhancements and new features
Leadership in defining products roadmap/vision and path to success
Remain current as to business and technology products, developments, and trends in order to inform planning and facilitate the evaluation of solution benefits, costs and alternatives
Understand business needs and recommend/select appropriate solutions
Manage vendor relationships and negotiation of annual licensing agreements
Communicate results and ideas to the management team and other stakeholder groups.
Leadership in training and building a community of practice
Develop strategies that enable formal/informal training on analytical platform related topics within the organization
Lead the development and refinement of analytics platform training including continuously improving and updating the training curriculum to address any skill gaps. Champion, promote and enable analytics tool community of practice
Be responsible for product management including licensing, feature implementation, and vendor management.
Develop positive relationships and demonstrate effective partnership with business related to analytical platforms
Support the team in delivering analytical projects per priorities set by the business
May need to mentor/coach other associates in project delivery
Continuously research and identify improvement opportunities for analytical platform maintenance and performance
Recommendations to business on appropriate use of various platforms and associated features
Decision making on necessary practices, maintenance, required technology and appropriateness of business applications
Managing analytical platform vendor(s) and making recommendations regarding the ongoing aspects of those relationships

What you'll need
Bachelor degree in related technical disciplines with practical experience
Canadian Securities Course or demonstrated equivalent experience is considered an asset
Ability to quickly learn/adopt new technology and approaches
Ability to independently research for potential solutions
Ability to communicate analytic and data solutions in an actionable manner to business partners
Strong problem solving skills working in a team based environment
Excellent knowledge in analytical platform technology and industry trends
Excellent knowledge of business applications of advanced analytics
7+ years experiences in related areas
Hands-on experience with data analytics and data visualization platforms, such as (but not limited to) Tableau, Power BI, DataBricks, Matlab, D3
Hands-on experience with cloud computing platforms, such as (but not limited to) Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, …
Experience with data visualization and analytics deployment in Cloud
Experience in managing software product/platforms maintenance, deployment and migration
Experience with Machine Learning model development and deployment in Cloud environment
Experience with databases (SQL/NoSQL) including writing complex queries and scripts
Practical experience with Python /R or other open source programming languages
Experience with Git workflow
Achieved positive business outcomes in a dynamic and fast paced environment
