About the role_

We are looking for a self-starting, detail oriented Financial Controller to build out our finance team and practices from the ground up. Reporting to the CEO, our ideal candidate is someone who gets excited about delivering a clean set of financial statements and creating right sized policies and processes when needed. They will be comfortable creating definition out of ambiguity, and amazing communication skills are critical in this stage of our growth.
Responsibilities_
Manage and oversee the daily operations of accounting functions including: Month/year-end process, AP/AR, general ledger, payroll, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, and creating/maintaining schedules where needed.
Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements
Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
Provide recommendations, improve systems and procedures, and initiate corrective actions
Work with our external accountants and management team to bring bookkeeping to audit readiness
Work with the CEO to create financial projections
Ability to switch gears and manage multiple finance or operations projects while delivering results on schedule
Skills and experience_
Proven working experience as a Finance Manager, Controller or a similar role
CPA or equivalent
Ability to manipulate large amounts of data
Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
High attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to direct and supervise a team, as well as prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Excellent written communication and presentation skills
Advanced computer skills in MS Office, Google suite, accounting software and databases
