Overview:
The EWA-Canada Payment Assurance (PA) Lab evaluates compliance of products against payment device security standards such as PCI PTS POI and HSM security standards.
The evaluators assess products and solutions and prepare written evaluation verdicts for integration into evaluation test reports.
Demonstration of good writing skills is required. The evaluator must be able to work to deadlines.

Qualifications

Technical Requirements:
Knowledge of common programming languages such as C\C++, Java
Knowledge of Linux, Android, iOS
Analytical and critical thinking skills
Excellent writing skills – must be able to prepare written reports
Excellent English communication skills, ability to articulate requirements in technical and non-technical terms to customers, peers, and management.
Knowledge of cryptography
Proven ability to work independently

Preferred:
Experience in hardware product design, development and/or testing
Familiarity with fuzz testing, signal processing, and side-channel analysis
Knowledge of wireless communication protocols (e.g. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC)
Familiarity with penetration test tools and techniques (e.g. Kali, Nessus, Metasploit)
Knowledge of PCI standards, ISO17025, FIPS 140-2, Common Criteria, or related IT security standards
Non-manufacturer, professional designations and certifications (e.g. OSCP, CEH, SANS)
Experience working in a regulated, accredited facility or environment

Responsibilities:
Under the direction and guidance of the Lab Manager, the Cyber Security Evaluator will perform defined subsets of the work items required to evaluate a product, review and assess documentary evidence, and carry out logical and physical testing on the product under test in the PA Lab.
Evidence includes Hardware/Firmware/Software Architecture and design documents, Firmware/Software API descriptions, cryptography and key management documentation, test documentation, source code, circuit diagrams, etc.
Successful candidates will participate in the development of new testing methodology and contribute to the documentation of the methodology.
Successful candidates will interface with customers to provide technical guidance in support of submitting payment industry products into evaluation

Duties to Include:
Preparing and executing test plans, and generating and documenting reports and results;
Consulting the Lead Tester, Lab Manager, and/or Facility Director on all testing matters requiring clarification;
Supporting the Lead Tester for assigned activities;
Acting as Lead Tester, once qualified, on specific testing projects on an as-needed basis;
Performing testing activities on an as-required, as-tasked basis; and
Conducting testing activities in accordance with all applicable standards and methodologies
The ability to work in a team environment coupled with the ability to develop creative solutions will be key to your success;

Clearance:
Successful candidate must be eligible for security clearance to the level of enhanced reliability/secret in Canada

Travel:
Occasional domestic and international travel may be required; and

Education:
Successful completion of a post-secondary program, preferably in a field related to IT security, computer science or engineering
