As part of the Financial Planning & Analysis and Strategy team, the Manager, Corporate Development will possess a strong business acumen and knowledge of Corporate Development, Financial Planning and Strategy.

Reporting to the VP, FP&A, the Manager, Corporate Development will support Finance, the Strategy team and the AMRP leadership team to develop a Corporate plan focused on 1 to 5 years that meets the immediate and long term financial goals and objectives of the organization. This role requires a combination of financial analysis, strategic analysis, business modeling, and creative thinking supporting internal stakeholders and the FP&A team with structured analysis to evaluate internal operations, investment opportunities, transaction alternatives and “build vs. buy” assessments to ensure business objectives and financial results are met. This role is also responsible for developing and leading one Analyst. This position supports the FP&A and strategy team responsible for the AMRP and overall LoyaltyOne forecasting and planning. This role has key responsibilities including:

Financial review and updating of inputs into Managements 5 Year Plan.
Providing support and Business Analysis for investment opportunities in proposed strategic initiatives.
Creating business models and budgets to determine asset allocations and monitor the performance of initiatives within the organization.
Measurement and Optimizing organizations productivity through analysis of best practices.
Assisting teams with Product development and market assessments.
Understanding key drivers of revenues and expenses; identifying the most important Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure and evaluate company performance.
Reviewing of past projects and outcomes against business case.
M&A activities or divestitures of non-core assets.

On your AIR MILES adventure, you will:
Work closely with Senior Management to coordinate inputs and individual group preparation of the 5 Year plan.
Work with department leads and Senior leaders to develop KPI’s that align with strategic business objectives and deliver on corporate targets. Provide support for forecast adjustments through analysis of risks and offsets while addressing business and financial constraints.
Develop, manage and provide support for M&A opportunities under consideration by senior management. Coordination of the deal model and support senior management with preparation of targeted financial outcomes. Review against Alliance Data requirements deal requirements.
Facilitate decision making processes for key business projects and ad hoc analysis including business metrics, revenue and expense estimates, and contract evaluations, capital investment alternatives as well as other considerations including M&A and partnership opportunities.
Assist in preparation of presentations and for senior management and Executive team, highlighting relevant corporate performance and financial metrics.
Support organization in decision making for process improvements, new projects and continuous development with current financial data, metrics and analysis as available.
Lead a staff of 1 individual responsible for synthesizing large quantities of data, develop and manage financial models, and identify key business drivers for business partners.

These are the essential requirements to thrive in this role:
Bachelor Degree in Accounting, General Business, Finance and/or Strategy
The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker who possesses a CPA designation.
Minimum of 4-7 years of directly related work experience in Finance
Minimum of 1-2 years of Supervisory/Management experience
MS Word (proficient), Excel (Advanced), PowerPoint (Advanced), PeopleSoft, Hyperion Planning and Essbase would be considered an asset
Strong verbal and oral communication skills and the ability to tailor communication appropriately to different stakeholder audiences (i.e. business stakeholders vs. finance stakeholders).
