As a member of the Food & Beverage Supervisory Team at Meridian Centre, we look for people with an understanding and appreciation for great customer service. People with varied work experience, a willingness to learn new skills, and people who enjoy a team dynamic while working towards the success of the overall operation. Ideally, you should be Smart Serve Certified or eligible (18+) if interested in working Front Line (alcohol service) OR be Safe Food Handling Certified if interested in working with food production. The schedule of events can be sporadic/inconsistent, so the ideal candidate should have flexibility in their availability.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be. Must have the physical ability to maneuver around facility, walking and/or standing in excess of 6 hours daily. Positions may require stooping and lifting, and manual dexterity to operate kitchen/concession equipment may be required.

General Specifications, Responsibilities, and Abilities:

  • Successful candidates will need to work flexible hours for all shifts. This includes, weekends, evenings, and late nights.
  • Must be thoroughly familiar with alcohol management procedures (T.E.A.M. Training – Provided)
  • Must be thoroughly familiar with safety and house policies and procedures in designated area.
  • Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written in English.
  • Excellent attention to detail and customer service skills.
  • Professional presentation, appearance and work ethic.
  • Other duties as assigned; in particular moving between positions


  • Smart Serve mandatory for all applicants over 18 years of age.
  • Valid Food Safety Certificate an asset
  • Supervisory experience in quick service, concessions or restaurant services an asset.

Role Specific Responsibilities:

Portables Supervisor:

  • Accurate handling of cash without the aid of a cash register
  • Accurate counts of all products before and after event
  • Safe and proper handling of equipment
  • Keep all areas clean and well stocked
  • Place product order for next event
  • Safety awareness

Food & Beverage Product and Equipment Coordinator:

  • Inventory storage, distribution and stock rotation
  • Maintenance of portable keg beer units and other equipment
  • Event management – stand stock replenishment
  • Complete inventory movement documents, bin and rack cards
  • Heavy lifting

Food and Beverage Event Supervisor:

  • Back office operations
  • Stand Lead and stand supervision
  • Event co-ordination and supervision
  • Daily Sales Report event control sections
  • Cash control and daily cash deposit
  • Event trouble shooting
  • Assist F&B full time management staff as required
  • Safety awareness

Stand Lead:

  • Direction of stand team members
  • Scheduling of breaks
  • Staff sign in/out
  • Counting inventory at beginning and end of shift
  • Maintaining stand inventory in a good order
  • Ensuring stand cleanliness
  • Ensuring food safety and proper food handling
  • Cash register close off at end of night
  • Product order during and end of event
  • Lock up of stand at end of night
  • Ability to work all positions within the stand
  • Safety awareness

Head Cashier:

  • Pick up floats at bakery and verify totals with Event Supervisor
  • Distribute floats to cashiers
  • Ensure that cashiers complete skim envelopes
  • Supervise movement of cashiers to bakery
  • Supervise cashier count in the back room
  • Assist with coin rolling operations
  • Verify all cash floats with Event Supervisor
  • Help clean stand at end of event
  • Safety awareness

Additional Skills:

  • Excellent math skills
  • Excellent cash handling

Suite Supervisor:

  • Direction of suite hosts
  • Staff sign in/out
  • Ensure suites are unlocked, clean and ready for event
  • Print out opening/closing reports on computer
  • Input all credit card transactions into computer
  • Ensure all suite guests have been attended to
  • Food safety and proper food handling
  • Ensure staff have completed duties (dishes removed from suites, refrigerators re-stocked)
  • Product order beginning and end of event
  • Ensure suites and pantry are locked at end of event
  • Work within guidelines of the A.G.C.O.
  • Safety awareness

Club Lounge Lead:

  • Direction of lounge team members
  • Staff sign in/out
  • Log on/off both bars and lounge cash registers
  • Maintain lounge and inventory in good order
  • Counting inventory at beginning and end of event
  • Product order during and end of event
  • Lock up lounge bars and ensure lounge food area is secure
  • Work within guidelines of the A.G.C.O.
  • Safety awareness

Other Requirements

Due to the nature of our business candidates will need to be able to work flexible hours; primarily evenings, weekends and occasional holidays. In addition there will be work required during normal business hours.
