This opportunity offers an ideal environment to learn and grow. In this role you will build your experience by being exposed to a wide cross-section of business functions and Customer teams while working on strategic business opportunities and improvements.
The role offers an opportunity to leverage technology and analytics to drive real innovation and customer value. You will gain experience in engaging various business functions and users to deploy and implement new and existing processes. Furthermore, you will gain exposure to various strategic applications including scenario planning tools, simulation/optimization engines and advanced analytics.
Work in this role is guided by detailed instructions, routines, and procedures. Students will work under close supervision and receive detailed instructions on all work assignments. Student may work autonomously once proficiency in the tasks is achieved and may be given more complex duties as proficiency is gained. This role deals directly with immediate supervisor, co-workers and team members with guidance.
Students will enjoy a stimulating and challenging work environment with opportunities to develop skills while working in a highly motivated team. This position ideal for students that have completed their 3rd year of a Business, Industrial Engineering, Business Analytics, Finance, Accounting, Applied Mathematics, or Computer Science program. This position is ideal for a person with a passion for business analytics and problem solving in a team environment.
The ideal candidate has an aptitude for:
Exploring data sets to find hidden patterns, trends, and opportunities to improve business processes and strategies
Performing complex analysis
Relating analytical findings to business impacts
Presenting analytical concepts and findings in ways that resonate with non-technical audiences (verbal + visual communication)
Manage commitments and changing priorities. Prioritize and re-assess schedules and tasks quickly and effectively.
Experience with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies (e.g. Green Belt Certification).
Strong systems thinker.
Good project management and leadership skills.
Strong facilitation, teaching and presentation skills.
Good negotiation and problem resolution skills.
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Advanced skills with Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, macros, VBA)
Experience with databases, analytic applications, and programming languages (e.g. data modeling, SQL, R, Java)
Knowledge of basic supply chain and/or financial functions (e.g. accounting/budgeting, supplier/vendor management, customer management, sourcing, planning, buying, logistics etc.)
Ability to identify and resolve complex process/system problems using financial, analytical and statistical models.
Refine and run advanced inventory optimization models
Conduct supply chain assessments across our production network
Model operational efficiency and inventory impact of different scenarios
Gather and persist historical data to support analysis
Partner with internal stakeholders
Collaborate with IT to refine dashboard outputs
Physical Demands, duties of this position are varied and will include:
Duties of this position are performed in a normal office with exposure to manufacturing environments.
Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data
Repetitive manual movements are frequently required (e.g. data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc).
