Reporting directly to the Manager, Development, this role is responsible for processing a wide range of development applications and acting as a resource for staff, Council and the public in regards to planning processes and policies. This role will take on day to day management of development applications including, but not limited to, Official Plan Amendments, Zoning By-law Amendments, Draft Plans of Subdivisions and Condominiums, Site Plan Control applications, Land Division applications, Minor Variance applications, Niagara Escarpment Development applications, and associated site inspections.
The Ideal Candidate
We are seeking a planning professional with a post-secondary degree in Planning or a closely related field. Our ideal candidate has a minimum of 5 years experience in municipal planning. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated the ability to exercise significant discretion and sensitivity involving occasional access to sensitive information. We are seeking an individual with superior interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively in a team environment. This individual must be confident in providing guidance and information to internal Town staff, Council, other relevant public agencies, and the general public regarding Caledon’s planning process, Official Plan policies, and other relevant planning policies.
Membership in the Canadian Institute of Planners would be an asset.
This position offers a salary range of $71,921.97 - $93,077.66 plus a competitive benefit package.
