The Peninsula Retirement Community in Sidney B.C. is seeking to hire a part time Health Care Assistant for our Assisted Living residents. The shifts are Friday and Saturday evenings from 3 pm to 11 pm, as well as on call.

During the single site order due to COVID, this position will pay at union wages.

Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

Minimum 2 years' experience,

Certificate or Diploma from a recognized Resident Care Attendant program is a must have,

Current standard First Aid/CPR,

Medication Administration Course,

Ability to pay close attention to detail is mandatory,

Ability to work quickly with accuracy and efficiency, and manage emergency situations,

Excellent oral and written communication skills,

Ability to show commitment to the needs of the residents,

Outstanding personal interaction and customer service skills,

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times,

Ability and knowledge to properly educate the residents and families on on-going care needs,

The ability to maintain administrative functions of the front desk (multi-tasking at its best),

Exercise sound judgment in regards to adherence of policies and procedures,

Physical ability to perform the duties of the position, including but not limited to bending, lifting, reaching, moving chairs or tables, pushing medication carts, etc.
