The primary role of the ACE Pilot is to focus on the Machine Shop department to improve machine utilization through effective execution of continuous improvement activities (Kaizen events and blitz). The incumbent will drive ACE to the production floor to ensue yearly goals are met.He/she will work closely with Machine shop Manager, Supervisors, floor shop employees and ACE team to support Machine Shop's ACE Journey.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AS ACE PILOT:
Coordinate with Managers, Supervisors, ME's and operators the implementation of high impact Kaizen events with focus on 5s, Set-Up reduction, TPM, DIVES and SW
Participate, Lead and Co-Lead kaizen event activities; including follow-up and closure of all actions
Act as ACE Pilot for the Machine Shop, and work closely with the Mger and supervisors to provide guidance/support through the ACE journey to achieve Silver level performance
Drive effective visual management into the machine shop
Become familiar with AIM tools and ACE methodologies.
Facilitate ACE board meeting with key stakeholders and update metrics as required
Regularly audit 5s, FOD, SW and Tier Process programs to ensure effectiveness. Close gaps as required
Participate in ACE Pilot meetings , and support Machine shop in the ACE council
Support Lean transformation activities in the Machine Shop
Support Tier Process in metrics such as utilization and provide support towards Real Time Problem Resolution activities of the Machine shop team
Organize and support ACE, lean and continuous improvement training requirements in order to develop ACE/CI skill sets across Machine shop employees
Communicate and educate shop floor employees on the ACE process, events and activities
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AS UTILIZATION CHAMPION:
As Utilization champion for machining will be the primary owner of the CIMCO system, effectiveness of the Andon system and provide reporting needs to different stakeholders (Mgrs, Supervisor, Capacity Planning, etc)
Perform daily/weekly/Monthly analysis of machine utilization, identify trends based on pareto analysis of turn-backs and develop tactical plan to improve utilization and efficiency metrics
Support digital implementation of CIMCO across the site
University Degree in a relevant technical discipline
Demonstrate solid analytical and project management skills
Demonstrate involvement in continuous improvement activities/events
Lean Practitioner Certification and/or Six Sigma Certification (Green belt/Black Belt) strongly preferred
3-5 years of relevant experience
Experience with SPC tools
Must be able to interact and communicate well with people at all levels
Effective organization and time management skills
Demonstrated leadership qualities through successful participation in company leadership activities or events.
Advance knowledge of all computer programs, including MS Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Ability to work on own with very little supervision
A team player with strong planning skills and who is persistent in following through on commitments and daily objectives.

Ability to work across different shift as required.
