Job Description:
The primary focus of this role is to provide broad technical expertise and to directly coordinate the operational work of a vendor delivered service. As a subject matter expert this role is responsible for coaching and mentoring the operational team focusing on quality and efficiency of delivery. As the subject matter expert in Unix and Linux, this role will actively participate in project architectural design and implementations.
This role will have oversight of the day to day operation of the operational support team ensuring that work is prioritized and delivered with quality and efficiency. Operating in a repetition cycle of operational support, this role is expected to drive continuous improvement and efficiency across the operational support team. Highly organized, this role will maintain a thorough understanding of all operational activities and key deliverables. In this role communication skills will play a significant success factor; clear, articulate and concise communication should be exceptional whether written or verbal.
All recurring governance and compliance requirements will fall under the accountability of this role.

Provide technical oversight and guidance to vendor to ensure TIS governance and policies are maintained
Accountable for implementing continuous improvement plans in conjunction with service providers and assist with monthly, quarterly and annual reports of continuous improvement activities, benefits and outcomes.
Guide technical direction through the creation of technology roadmaps and engagement in technical working groups
Provide subject matter knowledge and support during delivery of changes within the domain in collaboration with other operational groups
Coach and guide vendors in carrying out deliverables and provide support in following Enbridge processes
Work with vendors to analyze existing application effectiveness and make recommendations for the improvement, optimization, decommissioning and potential growth of the operating environment
Monitor the incident queue and participate in quality control activities
Support vendor during patching, maintenance, upgrades and other related activities associated with the infrastructure service area to ensure planned work has been communicated to, and approved by appropriate stakeholders
Take the lead and support vendors and clients in the resolution of major incidents
Support the operations team as an escalation point for incident troubleshooting and resolution
Review work package progress regularly; hold authority to accept the work done and/or provide feedback

4+ years of experience supporting a variety of UNIX operating systems in a corporate environment
4+ years of experience managing 150+ UNIX systems
Experience leading technical projects for any of the following systems: Redhat, AIX, HPUX (HP-UX)
Experience designing, architecting, configuring, upgrading for any of the following systems: Redhat, AIX, HPUX (HP-UX)
Exceptional communication skills
Experience supervising small groups of technical resources
Proven project management methodology, managing multiple initiatives simultaneously
Proven experience in collaboration between stakeholders and client/vendor relations
Able to consolidate requirements and translate them into TIS deliverables
Experience working on global, cross functional teams or projects
Experience working with and being part of a regionally diverse team
Forward thinking and can show agility to frequent change
Must be able to travel to the USA
Must have access to reliable vehicle with a clean driving history

Degree in Math or other technological degree or equivalent work experience
Formal project management training
Programming and coding experience
