We are seeking a Head of Senior School to work at our Morven Campus.
The Head of Senior School, is the front-facing leader for the Morven Campus (Grades 8-12) and responsible for the day to day operations of the campus. This leader will play a crucial role managing the complexities of a senior school with 600 students and 100 faculty and staff. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Head of Senior School has a mandate to provide leadership, vision, and support that will ignite students’ passion for learning and instill strong personal values during their high school years. The ideal candidate is an inspiring, progressive and innovative academic leader who is passionate about education. He/she needs to understand the importance of building strong connections and two-way communication with students, parents, faculty and staff. The candidate must be able to demonstrate having a stellar career and been recognized as a strong leader within the public or private school system in a position such as Head, Deputy Head, Principal, Vice Principal or equivalent in a Grade 8-12 environment.
Serves as the cultural and operational leader of the Senior School
Develops and communicates a vision and identity for the Senior School that supports the overall mission of the school
Collaborates with the administrative team and faculty to foster division cohesion
Oversees the academic, social, and emotional well-being of Senior School students in coordination with the Director of Academics, Dean of Students, Heads of House, and University Guidance Department
Cultivates a working knowledge of each Senior School student’s experience within the Senior School program in order to foster strong relationships with students and families
Oversees communication between school and parents and meets with parents about issues of mutual concern
Collaborates with colleagues on the school's Academic Team to ensure a consistent and cohesive JK-12 program
Empowers faculty to grow as professionals and work to remove obstacles to that growth
Works with the Director of Teaching, Learning & Innovation on faculty development and oversee performance management (professional growth) of Senior School teachers for the identification and development of outstanding teachers and the successful improvement of performance as needed
Works with the Director of Academics, Director of Teaching & Learning, and department heads to recruit, hire, evaluate, and retain Senior School faculty
Coordinates with the Dean of Students to respond constructively to all major disciplinary matters within the Senior School
Collaborates with the University Guidance counsellors to support students' transition to post-secondary education
Manages the student academic probation process
Oversees school based and Provincial Exams
Manages June Awards Ceremony and School assemblies
Is a constructive, collaborative, and thoughtful problem-solver
Collaborates with the Director of Enrolment in the admission and retention of Senior School students
Coordinates with the Admission Office to meet with prospective students and to recruit new students to the Senior School
Supports a thriving co-curricular program
Oversees the Senior School calendar
Other duties assigned as required
Bachelor of Education
Masters in Educational Administration/Leadership is preferred

Demonstrated administrative experience
Significant experience with and knowledge of Senior School students, their developmental needs, and Senior School curriculum

Educational leadership experience including collaborative work with administrators, teachers, and parents
Strong organizational and management skills
Fiscal responsibility and dependable budgetary decision making
Warmth, consistency, transparency, and a sense of humor
Certified (or in the process of becoming certified) by the British Columbia Ministry of Education
