Role Purpose:
The Senior Financial Analyst will be an individual with a keen eye for detail and accuracy, skilled at analyzing financial results. Woodbridge is looking for a candidate with strong financial accounting and analytical skills to be a key part of our team to assist with financial reporting, planning and analysis in the corporate office. This opportunity is ideal for someone looking to deliver high-value work within a small finance team while seeing the impact of their work in real-time. The successful candidate will also work on several initiatives aimed at strengthening internal reporting, improving processes and identifying areas for improvement.

Responsibilities:
Consolidation of results and submissions, ensuring consistency of reporting for actual results compared to budget, forecast and prior year.
Analyze consolidated financial results including P&L, inter-company eliminations, fixed assets and intangibles, investments, debt, and non-controlling interest.
Responsible for providing insightful commentary and detailed variance analysis of results.
Analyze budget and forecast and perform variance analysis, including detailed corporate analysis.
Prepare monthly internal reports to executives including the CEO and shareholders, quarterly financials without notes, and annual audited financial statements with notes.
Perform transaction analysis and Purchase Price Allocation, assisting executives in understanding impact of transactions at proposed pricing.
Be the owner and expert on ASPE accounting treatments and support teammates in understanding impact of transactions on the financial statements.
Assist in the year-end process for preparation of audited financial statements and prepare reports for the Audit Committee.
Support and participate in business/department objectives through ad-hoc projects, ad-hoc reporting and analysis as needed for the business and as requested by senior management and the Board of Directors.
Analyze joint ventures ensuring the business is managing the income statement and balance sheet, as well as the contributions and returns by the partners.
Preparation, analysis and review of annual budget presentations for executive leaders.
Conduct detailed analysis and appropriate follow up of issues and recommend required corrective action.
Updating and improving Standard Reporting Packages (SRP) for annual budget and annual reporting requirements (for senior management and financial statement purposes).
Working on the following financial reporting needs: Business unit results; Plant reporting variance analysis; Differences against budget/forecast and actual.
Continuously streamline, improve and innovate processes while maintaining documentation.
Support new technology initiatives and process changes to improve the finance function.

Qualifications:
CA (preferred) /CMA/CGA/CPA; Experience working in a “big six” CA firm is preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience is required.
Proficiency in the use of excel spreadsheets and data analysis, and PowerPoint.
Expertise with Canadian ASPE, bonus US GAAP.
Experience in Consolidation and Multicurrency is considered an asset.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including delivering reports and communicating complex issues to executives and Audit Committee.
Attention to quality and detail is critical; demonstrated through ability to prepare reports.
Strong desire to work in a team environment as evidenced by prior experiences.
Deadline oriented and proven ability to manage multiple priorities.
Must be comfortable with change and have a mindset of continuous improvement.
Ability to problem solve and resolve conflict.
Strong analytical skills.
Experience in SAP, Cognos or TM1 would be an asset.
