The Manager, Special Projects (Communications Projects Manager) is a results-driven communications professional. This role will lead the development and execution of internal and external communications strategies, plan communications activities and will deliver integrated communications campaigns for the organization.

Accountabilities

Develop and implement strategic communications plans for new and existing programs
Work with internal subject matter experts as a trusted advisor to create customized plans to achieve communications objectives
Manage the execution of communications plans with contractors, creative services and other vendors
Monitor, review and report on communications activities and results
Participate in the planning and execution for internal and external events
Lead and/or contribute to cross-functional communications programs

Knowledge and Experience

Knowledge and experience working in the Ontario’s energy sector
Knowledge of communications strategies, approaches and tactics
Significant experience with large projects involving complex communications strategies
University Degree with a marketing, communications or business focus, with 10+ years of communications-related experience and a successful record of developing and delivering communications strategies through to implementation
Excellent organization skills – a demonstrated history of effective time management, coordination with stakeholders, managing internal or external client expectations
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Proven track record of working with creative agencies to achieve results
Strong analytical, creative and strategic skills
Solid negotiating, influencing and decision making
Strong team player with exceptional interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work well with others
