Ziff Davis Canada is looking for an energetic and dedicated full stack web developer to join our development team. This is a full-time position.

About this position

You’ll be joining the ranks of our full-stack web development team. You'll be working on several large commerce focused publisher websites, creating tools and systems that are back with data and use the latest web technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Create both frontend and backend components (Laravel, VueJS, CakePHP)
Convert Photoshop and / or Sketch designs into functional cross-browser templates (CSS, VueJS, JQuery, Animations, etc)
Build highly efficient and cacheable components (Redis, CDNs, etc)
Help develop and improve a cross-platform / cross-publisher CMS
Build various tools to help improve commerce conversions
Develop cross platform solutions for various Ziff Media Group properties
Build and deploy using Docker containers
Create and optimize programmatic ad products and templates
Drive innovation, thought leadership on where the web is going

Skills and Qualifications

Essential: 7+ years PHP programming using Laravel, CakePHP or equivalent
Essential: 7+ years CSS
Essential: 3+ years VueJS or similar (Angular, React)
Essential: 5+ years MySQL
Essential: Prior work experience with PHP frameworks (CakePHP, Laravel etc)
Essential: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences or equivalent
Important: Ability to work independently on projects and contribute new ideas
Important: Ability to manage multiple projects across multiple teams
Important: Experience working with and building APIs
Important: Experience with JS and CSS frameworks (Bootstrap, VueJs, React, Angular)
Asset: Experience with package managers (Composer, NPM)
Asset: Strong written and verbal communication skills, and an ability to translate technical jargon for non-technical executives
