Laboratory Analyst (Full-time) – Inorganic Main Lab, Metals Section

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager Assistants (PMA) ideally with analytical expertise in the environmental sector. Knowledge pertaining to Ontario and Canadian environmental regulations is required. This role will also be responsible for the receipt of samples at the Thunder Bay Service Center.

As a Laboratory Analyst, your main responsibilities are to:
Analysis of water/soils/food/air impingers/filters for metals using ICP-OES and CVAA.

Under the guidance of Senior Analysts/Supervisor:
Develop and implement new methodology and SOP.
Maintain and update current SOP.
Analyses of water, food, air impingers, filters and soil extracts according to SOP.
Maintain and troubleshoot ICP and Mercury CVAA equipment/methodologies.
Follow all relevant SOPs and WIs.
Use SAIL and summary reports to plan and organize work.
Follow all laboratory safety rules and regulations.
Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure accuracy and quality of work.
Keep work area clean, neat and organized.
Other responsibilities as assigned by their supervisor.

You are the ideal Laboratory Analyst, if you have a:
College Degree/University Diploma.
One to two years of ICP or Atomic Absorption experience preferred.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good record keeping skills and attention to detail.
Ability to accurately follow Standard operating Procedures (SOPs) and instructions.
