Who we’re looking forToyota’s Paint Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Production Engineering Specialist. The primary responsibility of this role is to manage area project schedules for new equipment installation, new model introduction, shop capacity studies and overall facilitation with related plant production groups. The person in this role will support the Paint department's objective to effectively manage capital projects, new model introductions within the region and provide necessary support to ensure smooth daily operations.
What you’ll be doing
Manage area project planning, implementation and follow-up
Manage new model introductions (equipment modifications, process jigs, etc.)
Negotiate scope of work and define roles/responsibilities with the plant
Identify necessary investment and equipment modifications for capacity increases / model mixes
What you bring
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering
Toyota experience (as a Contractor or Team Member)
Proficient with Microsoft Excel
Proficient with Microsoft Power Point
Experience with Canadian construction and safety codes/laws such as CSA, PSHSR and machine safety standards
Experience with paint process, equipment, material & vehicle specification including coordination with production
Project management experience for Paint Engineering including capital budget, equipment installation and vendor selection
Automation Experience, including: Controls Systems, PLC Logic, Data collection, equipment monitoring, Human-Machine Interface programming, Machinery Network comms, Robotics
Development of equipment standardization such as system design, safety and machine standardization
Added bonus if you have
Experience with AutoCad and CATIA, including the ability to read, interpret and modify both 2D and 3D drawings
Experience with underbody SE and Attachments
Experience writing and/or editing PLC programs for manufacturing equipment
Experience reviewing pneumatic, electrical, piping, and mechanical drawings and use of them for troubleshooting
