INETCO is looking for an QA Analyst to help test, develop, improve and expand upon the INETCO Insight product, our next generation monitoring product.
About the Company:
INETCO Systems Limited develops sophisticated application-aware infrastructure performance monitoring software products. Its flagship product, INETCO Insight, is a distributed computing platform that monitors enterprise network traffic in real time to provide IT operations teams with real time information regarding how the various components of their distributed systems are operating. The technology involved in doing this consists of a highly modular, data driven platform with real-time data collection, protocol decode, correlation, analysis, and information delivery subsystems. The platform is deployed on a Windows o/s environment.
As part of the Quality Assurance team, the QA Analyst is responsible for elevating the quality of INETCO’s software providing hands-on testing of INETCO products, creation and maintenance of manual and automated test cases and participation in improving the overall QA process and workflow. The QA Analyst provides feedback to project team members in order to maintain the highest level of quality in our deliverables through continuous testing of functionality/usability, proofreading, and validation during critical stages of development.
Participating in daily update scrums, sprint planning, and estimation activities.
Breaking down of assigned stories into sub-tasks including estimates.
Test plan reviews and test case creation for each product release.
Generating and executing test plans/cases/cycles.
Maintenance of the test cases and test suites within the test case management system.
Creating, updating, and resolving of issues within the Issue Tracking System.
Participating in the identification, evaluation, and decision-making process for future QA automation frameworks, tools, and processes.
Creating and maintaining of automated test cases within Automation Frameworks.
Setup and maintenance of the QA test environments.
Working directly with R&D Developers to identify, investigate, resolve issues, and conduct bug triages.
Assisting in the hiring process of future team members for the QA Test Team.
Working within the R&D team to deliver quality software, on-time.
Experience and Skills
University degree, diploma or certificate.
2+ years in Quality Assurance.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Work well in pressure situations.
Excellent planning and organizational abilities.
Thorough knowledge of QA processes, best practices, and methodologies.
Knowledge of networking and protocols (7 layers of OSI, TCP/IP, HTTP, etc).
Basic experience working with virtual environments (VMWare, VirtualBox, etc.)
Working experience with SQL and databases.
Excellent knowledge of the Software Development lifecycle.
Ability to perform infrequent light manual labour – i.e. moving computers and monitors to reorganize the test lab.
CSTE or ISTQB is an asset.
Analytics or BI QA experience is an asset.
Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Visual Basic, and web technologies is an asset.
Knowledge of R&D and QA tools like Jira, TestRail, Confluence, Zephyr is an asset.
Proactive about learning new technologies: desire to learn and enjoy intellectual challenges and problem solving on a daily basis. Strong planning, communication and organizational skills with the ability to work well in pressure situations.
