We are looking for a seasoned Advisor to manage and administer various size environmental assessment projects along with the permitting, approval, due diligence, and construction compliance expertise. The person in this role is expected to have experience with environmental assessments, contract documents, procurement and environmental support during construction. Preference is given to candidates with solid experience supporting infrastructure projects with a focus on transit.

Working in a multidisciplinary environment, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading and contributing to environmental projects associated with components of Environmental Assessments, and environmental contract language, permitting, oversight and inspection for a variety of projects.

We are looking for a candidate with related experience for general works typical along transit alignments (linear infrastructure), as well as transit related infrastructure, e.g., stations, layover facilities, yards.

The ideal candidate will be a motivated, detail-oriented, self-starter with minimum 8 years of experience in environmental assessment and related consulting services.

� Project management duties including coordinating and tracking of assignments, scopes, schedules budgets and deliverables;

� Oversee Environmental Assessments and associated environmental technical studies (e.g., natural heritage, archaeology, heritage, noise, vibration, air quality, soil, groundwater, contamination);
� Oversee preparation of environmental input to contract documentation including commitments made through Environmental Assessment, stakeholder agreements and permit/approval related requirements;

� Provide advice and guidance related to environmental matters including supporting discussions, permit, and approvals with regulatory agencies;
� Provide advice related to environmental legislation, standards, guidelines and policies within Ontario;
� Oversee and support risk mitigation and associate reporting for environmental inspection and compliance during construction;
� Proposal preparation;

� Budget tracking and cost control;
� Report preparation;
� Review and evaluate technical work of other staff;

� Client management, client communication and business development;
� Maintain excellent client relationships and different project stakeholders.


� 8+ years of experience in environmental assessments;

� University degree in a related field of study such as Planning, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geography;

� Demonstrated experience with the Canadian and Ontario Environmental Assessment processes, including streamlined processes (Class Environmental Assessments, Transport Project Assessment Process);
� Thorough understanding of environmental legislation, policies, standards and guidelines applicable to transportation infrastructure projects in Ontario;
� Experience planning, contracting and overseeing environmental aspects of transportation infrastructure projects in Ontario, with preference for transit project experience;
� Expertise in managing a team, budget management, report preparation, and client and regulatory agency relationship management;
� Strong organizational and time management skills;
� Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as advanced technical writing abilities;
� Ability to problem solve, troubleshoot, and put forth creative solutions.
