We’re looking for a Manager, Commercial Lines to join our growing team!
As a Manager, Commercial Lines your work will have a big impact on the overall direction and management of employees in the Commercial Lines underwriting department. You will be responsible for motivating and developing a high performing team, leading by example, and driving engagement. You will also enhance and develop Broker relationships and maintain a strong customer-focused approach while advising on solutions. Reporting to the Commercial Lines Director, you will drive and influence the way we shape the Commercial Lines book of business in the Southern Alberta region.
This position is a secondment opportunity ending on December 18th 2020 based in our Calgary, AB, office.

Develop, recommend, and implement leadership strategies, organizational structure, and process/technology improvement initiatives
Provide effective leadership by continuously keeping staff informed on changes/results and share responsibility for the overall performance, productivity and engagement of team members
Evaluate staff performance and prepare formal Performance Reviews. Perform quality reviews on team members as a means to record staff development. Manage staff scheduling and salary administration for the unit
Be responsible for training and development of staff and set and monitor team goals and objectives and systems (CL Contact, Halcion, CLPSS)
Build and manage effective working relationships with our Brokers, including product presentations and Broker visits and issues related to risk pricing, selection and retention
Liaise with other underwriting managers, corporate underwriting and claims management on technical and administrative issues
Assist in the preparation of production reports and/or other management responsibilities as delegated
5 years at Intermediate/Senior insurance experience (Commercial Lines property and casualty experience preferred)
Prior experience in management or developing and mentoring employees, is a must
CIP or FCIP preferred
Possess valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record
Strong relationship management skills through collaboration, communication, influencing and negotiating
Proven track record of demonstrating Intact’s leadership success factors
