416 Automation URGENTLY requires an outstanding, skilled Service Technician to Service and Assemble light to medium duty Automated Testing Cells/Machines and robotic type automated equipment. The ideal candidate must have 2-5 years’ experience with electro-mechanical/automated machinery or related equipment, OR must be a recent graduate of a relevant post-secondary diploma program (Industrial automation, Electro-mechanical is preferred)

What can I expect to do in this role?
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, as the ideal candidate, you will be responsible for performing detailed assembly using standard shop procedures and tools, as well as travelling to customers’ facilities to install or service 416 Automation products. Day to day activities involve working with a small team of 3-5 assemblers in a fast-paced environment, where attention to detail and precision is a must!
This is a full time position (Monday to Friday 8:00-4:30) with occasional overtime as needed. You must be flexible with working overtime, and able to travel (globally).

Some of the responsibilities…
Assemble and install mechanical parts and fixtures
fitting, adjusting and aligning to close tolerances and inspection standards.
Building electrical control panels, and cables, soldering various boards and cables
Support other team members (Team lead, software, electronic, electrical and mechanical team)
Operate Mill and Lathe to machine parts for assembly
Incoming parts quality check
Developing test plans, data collection and prototyping
Communicate with engineering staff regarding build issues and timelines
Must have own basic tool set
Must be able to handle physical requirements of job (continuous standing, occasional lifting of 10-50 pounds)
Essential Skills, Qualifications, and Requirements
At least 2-5 years of experience in assembly of automated equipment, AND/OR a post-secondary diploma in mechanical, industrial automation, or electro-mechanical is preferred
Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and specifications
Familiarity with standard electrical/mechanical/electronic assembly practices
Experience with various industrial controls software is a plus (PLC’s, C+, etc.)
Exceptional communication (written & verbal in English language) and interpersonal skills
Must be able to travel outside of Canada, especially the United States
