Rothewood Academy Training Coordinator Job Description

The principal is the ambassador of Rothewood Academy and has a critical Role in how parents and staff view and understand the Rothewood method.

The Training Coordinator’s role

The Training Coordinator will coordinate with the Curriculum Director and Operation Director in the ongoing planning, implementation, development, direction, review and evaluation of Rothewood Academy’s curriculum and instructional services, training and development programs, assessment, research, and evaluation services. The Training Coordinator ensures that the delivery of Rothewood Academy’s curriculum is aligned with the Founder’s education and brand objectives and that instructional practices that yield the highest standards of student achievement and instructional excellence. The Training Coordinator reports to the CEO and participates as a member of Rothewood Academy’s senior administrative team and to facilitate the implementation of the Rothewood method and philosophy.

Due to the importance of the Training Coordinator’s role, much effort must be concentrated in communication. In order to convey the underlying curriculum and understanding the process of learning and the limitation of teachers and the school’s daily functioning. The Training Coordinator must be not only familiar with his or her own role, but also with everyone else’s.

General Duties and Responsibilities

The general duties and responsibilities of the Training Coordinator are detailed throughout the Employee Handbook.

In addition, the Training Coordinator will:

£ Ensure that the Rothewood curriculum and general operational policies are carried out

£ Responsible for the delivery and implementation of Rothewood Curriculum and training programs including but not limited to feedback of Curriculum and learning objectives, delivery of material, and development of training resources.

£ Support all aspects of Rothewood Academy’s instructional and curriculum integration.

£ Coordinate the delivery, implementation, and evaluation of the Comprehensive Curriculum Plan

£ Supervise the administration and analysis of the Rothewood Teacher evaluation programs, including the implementation of an annual franchise-wide assessment calendar.

£ Represent Rothewood Academy in meetings and conferences related to curriculum and instruction, assessment, and training.

£ Report periodically to the Founders/CEO on all curriculum, instruction, and assessment matters and all training issues.

£ Make recommendations pertaining to policy and procedure to the Founders/CEO

£ Coordinate and supervise the Instructional Support program for the Franchise, including implementation of a consistent new hire and existing Teacher Instruction program.

£ Attend all Curriculum related meetings

£ Provide leadership and direction for the development, revision and continuous improvement of Rothewood Academy’s Curriculum and Training program

£ Plan and coordinate the budget requirements for acquisition or development of training material including but not limited to Video’s, powerpoints, online testing, online instructional systems and other training-related expenditures.

£ Plan, coordinate and communicate training-related management systems and policies.

£ Support all aspects of district instructional and curricular integration

£ Participate in the interview and selection process of the instructional staff as appropriate

£ Coordinate the Teacher Induction Program and Rothewood orientation programs and activities of new teachers and administrators.

£ Participate in the supervision process of beginning teachers through classroom observations and conferences

£ Provide feedback on Rothewood Academy staff, as outlined in the Rothewood Academy Organizational Chart

£ Conduct formal and informal observations of staff

£ Conduct observations of any teachers placed on an improvement plan

£ Counsel with principals and teachers on matters of Franchise System-wide concerns in order to help them improve their effectiveness

£ Encourage ethical practices of teachers

£ Cooperate with administrative and supervisory personnel on the overall education program

£ Supervise and evaluate Instructional Support teachers.

£ Recommend a budget to the Founder/CEO to meet the objectives of this office and operate within the budget

£ Attend and actively participate in professional association meetings and conferences at the local, City, Provincial, and national levels

£ Promote and participate in the public relations program, including the Rothewood Academy website and web pages

£ Serve on Franchise committees as needed

£ Keep the Founders/CEO fully informed of significant matters pertaining to the administration of the schools and consult freely with him/her concerning such matters

£ Establish an open line of communication with the community

£ Perform any other duties assigned by the Founders/CEO

£ Review all Policies, procedures and manuals to ensure they are up to date and correct. Update or amend as needed.

£ Ensure an licensing updates are accurately reflected in the Rothewood Manuals.

£ Inform the Founders/CEOas soon as you see or feel that a particular policy should be modified, established or eliminated.

£ Have clear and open communication.

£ Ensure all policies and manuals comply with the guidelines of the health authority and follow the Child Care Act.

£ Maintain an open line of communication with the various Licensing districts in which Rothewood operates in order to promote a safe and healthy environment for children.
