Job Summary

Schwartz is currently seeking full-time qualified millwright/maintenance mechanic to join our team.

Experience in packaging industry, work with hydraulics, pneumatic and PLCs would be a definite asset.

JOB REQUIREMENTS and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Repair, overhaul and replace defective machinery parts; production machines, conveyors, fillers, tube fillers, packaging equipment, mixers, DC controls
  • Plant supporting systems, as well as infrastructure
  • Provide machine set ups, provide technical guidance to operators, document and author
  • Ensure all machines and equipment are in safe working condition
  • Follow health and safety regulations in all steps, and especially in the lockout/tagout of equipment
  • Ongoing preventative maintenance and continuous improvement
  • Establish relationship with vendors, maybe be required to requisition parts, materials where required
  • Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions; Installing machinery and equipment; Perform routine maintenance work on machinery; Program programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
  • Other duties as required

Strong troubleshooting skills with an innovative approach to solving mechanical problems.

Very strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge

Design, fabrication, welding

Eager to learn and to train others

Must be self motivated, with good command of computer (Microsoft Suite)

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

Industrial Mechanic (millwright) Trade Certification

Electrical experience an asset

Required Language

Excellent command of English (spoken and written)

Hours

Day Shift with occasional over time

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $33.56 /hour
