Role Summary

The Director, Marketing will be responsible for developing and executing a best-practice driven, marketing strategy for the Tokyo Smoke brand in Ontario. This role will work closely with cross functional peers and retail locations to develop strategies, campaigns and a strong loyalty program, to educate and engage consumers, and drive growth for the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage 2161907 Alberta Ltd. (Brand License holder Tokyo Smoke Ontario)’s comprehensive marketing strategy and customer loyalty program
  • Develop and execute marketing plans to achieve business goals (revenue, sales, profit)
  • Partner with Franchisees and corporate leadership to develop integrated marketing programs and events to drive traffic and store growth
  • Lead the development and execution of highly effective, integrated, brand engagement programs that leverage a deep understanding of the consumer to create a competitive environment and pricing
  • Ensure brand strategy is driving all creative and content initiatives, working with relevant stakeholders to close gaps and align from ideation to execution
  • Represent Tokyo Smoke in the province of Ontario’s brand positioning in the marketplace to ensure cohesiveness and unity
  • Identify and leverage regional and provincial best practices
  • Monitor marketing program and strategy execution and effectiveness
  • Provide analysis and recommendations on marketing programs to internal and external stakeholders
  • Strengthen the Tokyo Smoke brand in Ontario by contributing to improving culture and the organization’s effectiveness
  • Stay on top of trends in research, technology, retail and cannabis
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of related retail marketing experience
  • Experience in a highly-regulated industry/cannabis industry is preferred
  • Proven experience creating, executing and overseeing a strong customer loyalty program
  • Expertise in social media marketing essential
  • Post- secondary education in Business and/or Marketing
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Suite of tools
  • Event planning experience will be considered a strong asset
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Proven strategist, with experience creating marketing plans and seeing them through to execution
  • An entrepreneurial spirit, with a proven ability to innovate and seek out new opportunities
  • A dedicated influencer, highlighting the brand through on-site engagement with retail owners, customers and staff
  • Ability to inspire a marketing strategy with senior leaders by generating and implementing new ideas
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills and the ability to make decisions to move forward
  • An engaging and highly approachable personality with the ability to relate to different stakeholders, consumers and partners
  • Demonstrated skills in multi-tasking, time management and organization
  • A confident, focused attitude combined with the desire to grow and learn new things
  • Ability to manage ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
  • Driven by data-focused decision- making skills
  • Proven ability to organize, plan and manage multiple priorities and projects under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with minimal supervision
