Due to an expected increase in business, John's Marina - Carleton Place, a family owned business for over 48 years, is currently looking to hire a Part-Time / Seasonal Inside Sales Person.

Previous Sales experience is an asset but not required. The ability to communicate clearly and positively with customers and team members alike, is a requirement. Working closely with our team of technicians, service / sales staff, and customers to provide an exceptional customer service experience is what it is all about!

The successful candidate will have experience in customer service and should be an effective communicator - in person, on the phone, and using a computer. Must be able to effectively prioritize in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment. A good memory and the ability to work well with numbers is crucial. This position is customer facing and will involve backing up both the Service & Sales Advisor when required.

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications: **

High School Diploma required.

Minimum 2 years experience in Retail / Service Industry

experience with parts would be preferable however we would be willing to train the right applicant.

Job Type:

Full-time / Seasonal with Saturday shifts on a rotation.

*_Responsibilities: _*

  • Serving customer (in person or by telephone / e-mail), offering product knowledge and direct sales
  • Ensure that the customer's needs are satisfied
  • Process orders to completion which includes pricing, picking the order and sourcing additional information if required, accurately and efficiently
  • Sourcing non-stocks
  • Ensuring all items purchased are properly entered, allocated and efficiently processed
  • Keeping the counter and showroom area clean and organized
  • Evaluating customer's needs and promoting add-on products to maximize sales
  • Support Service / Sales department during busy times
  • Other job related duties as assigned to you

  • Minimum two (2) years counter/inside sales experience or related customer service experience
  • Excellent problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with Web Site Development / On-line Advertising / Graphic Design
  • Customer service oriented and ability to work well in a team environment as well as unsupervised
  • Positive attitude towards work and others
  • Be able to meet deadlines assigned to you
  • Required to understand customers request and respond to inquiries in a timely manner
  • Be able to enter sales orders
  • Be able to take sales orders over the phone, fax or email and follow through
  • Ability to safely lift heavy items is required (50 Lbs.)
