Working under the direction and supervision of the Team Lead, Mechanical Services, the Mechanical Technician will provide operational and service support for all AGLC owned and lease facilities; primarily the Corriveau, Calder and Boudreau facilities. In this role, you will be expected to provide maintenance and trade services within the capacity of a 4th class Power Engineer and certified Journeyman Plumber/Gasfitter. You will work with and support other trade and non-trade facility service requirements to meet overall Properties Branch goals and objectives.
In this fast paced role you will perform first class services within the execution of tasks related to operating, mechanical maintenance, preventative maintenance, installation, repair, replacement and enhancement services of all AGLC owned and leased facilities. The mechanical systems include but are not limited to ventilation systems, heat/cool systems, hot/cold water systems, and life safety systems. The monitoring and controlling of these mechanical systems is achieved by both pneumatic and digital control systems. The incumbent will work with and maintain the following equipment/systems: Mechanical HWH boilers, steam boilers, hot water and glycol heat exchangers, heating and cooling coils, tower radiation fin and zone valves, humidification systems, supply, return, exhaust and ventilation fans, HVAC systems, RTU’s, UH’s, FF, MAU’s, BMS systems and controls, compressors, driers and pneumatic control, dampers and actuators, chillers cooling towers, condensing pumps piping and valves, chilled water pumps piping and valves, glycol and heating pumps, piping and valves, Liebert A/C and condensing units, coolers and refrigerators.
To be successful in this role, you must be able to work in a service-focused, team environment and possess a thorough knowledge of major and minor mechanical systems. In alignment with AGLC values, this role will require you to work productively and effectively with contractors, team members, and clients. You must have the ability to function in a service capacity, adapt to ongoing changes, and accommodate such changes in a positive manner.
NOTE: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Candidates with lesser qualifications may be considered at a lower classification and salary. This recruitment may be used to fill future vacancies. Safety shoes are required. A clean driver’s license and drivers abstract are required for this role.

Corporate Services Division
The Corporate Services Division provides corporate business support services for the AGLC. It consists of four branches, Corporate Support & Information Governance, Finance, Procurement, and Properties.
The Properties Branch is responsible for the facility management of the organization that provides corporate support in the areas of Plant Maintenance, Project Management, Capital Programming, Space Planning, Staff Accommodations, Facilities Acquisition, Disposal of corporate real estate, as well as Operational Services in the areas of Physical Security, Custodial, Fleet Vehicles, Utilities Management, Waste Management, Parking, Leasing, Cafeteria Services, and Grounds Management, and also manages property related contracts where revenue collection of own leased premises is involved.
