TITLE: Part Time Banquet Server
NUMBER OF OPEN POSITIONS: 3
REPORTING TO: Food and Beverage Services Manager

Halifax’s vibrant Robie & Quinpool neighborhood.

We are searching for professional, enthusiastic team players who are committed to exceeding the expectations of all guests attending functions at our hotel. Successful applicants will provide excellence in guest service and attention to detail ensuring that the expectations of our guests are exceeded and all requests are responded to in an accurate and timely manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Greet guests promptly with enthusiasm and sincerity, serving food and beverage, fulfilling guest requests, committed to maintaining and promoting banquet standards and policies with respect to presentation, quality, service and product Foster and promote communication, friendliness, cleanliness, and teamwork which will ensure the enjoyment of all our guests and the development of repeat business
Meet company guidelines and ensure responsible service of alcoholic beverages
Attend and participate in pre-service meetings, scheduled operations and training
Inquire at appropriate intervals if the guest is satisfied with the meal, drinks, service, etc., and act accordingly to ensure complete satisfaction
Ensure tables are cleared and cleaned promptly and discreetly in accordance with service standards and as per the direction of the team leader
Have knowledge of all facilities and services, as well as any functions occurring on the property
Ensure additional areas within the function space are free from soiled glassware, and empty bottles
Ensure all assigned shift cleaning procedures are performed and adhered to
Perform any other duties assigned or requested by the Banquet Manager or Supervisor

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
A positive and professional attitude and demeanor
Previous serving experience an asset
Responsible Beverage Certification a definite asset
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize
Must be available Friday and Saturday nights
Must be legally permitted to serve alcohol in Nova Scotia
