As a Greenskeeper you will perform a variety of duties related to golf course operations. Primary duties include:
Evaluate turf health and general golf course needs.
Perform turf maintenance such as mowing greens, fertilizing, irrigating, scouting for pests and applying pesticides, evaluating plant growth and health.
Assist in the implementation of a planned program for golf course turf, pesticide application, horticulture, grounds maintenance, and staff and customer safety programs.
Support the clubhouse supervisors and volunteer coordinators in their day to day operation of golf courses.
Working Conditions: These positions require physically demanding work in all types of working and weather conditions.

Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years of age.
A completed two year diploma in Turf Management with at least 1 year of related experience is required.
You possess or have the ability to obtain a Provincial Pesticide Applicators Licence and Standard First Aid Certificate.
A valid Class 5 Driver's Licence (or provincial equivalent) with no more than 6 demerits or a Graduated Driver's Licence (GDL) with no more than 4 demerits, no current suspensions or charges pending is required.
One or more years of golf course experience is an asset.
Strong communication, planning and organizational skills; understanding of golf course operating practices; ability to deal effectively with a variety of customers.
Pre-employment Requirements

Must be able to obtain a City of Calgary operator's permit.
Applicants may be interviewed and hired throughout the duration of this competition.
Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications.

Pre-employment Drug Test:
An offer of employment for this position will be conditional on an applicant passing a pre-employment drug test. This test assesses for use of drugs including cannabis. Failure to pass a pre-employment drug test may prevent an applicant from being hired into any safety sensitive position for a period of up to twelve months.
