We are currently seeking (1) Regular Full-Time Medical Laboratory Technologist - Antibody Identification to join our Donor Testing team in Brampton.

You will be required to perform testing, as well as other relevant lab duties.

Performs patient and donor testing, following operating procedures.
Performs and records all testing related quality control/assurance activities.
Performs routine maintenance, operation and verification of minor/major laboratory equipment in accordance with approved work instructions to meet regulatory requirements.
Maintains and provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
Maintains technical competency and promotes continuous learning.
Participates in ongoing quality improvement activities.
Performs blood grouping, phenotype testing, antibody screening and antibody identification for patient and donor samples.
Performs adsorptions, elutions, titrations and other specialized serological procedures on complex antibody identification cases including genotyping.
Ensures appropriate performance of related quality control /assurance activities.
Performs, verifies and documents routine maintenance and verification procedures for laboratory equipment in accordance with approved work instructions and regulatory requirements.
Must be able to work the required shifts and work independently as well as a member of the team.
Demonstrated regular attendance is required.

Required Skills
A general CMLTO license is required.
Recent hospital experience is preferred.
Experience in antibody investigations and blood group discrepancies required.
Excellent Customer Service skills.
Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills are required.
Must pass all required job related competency assessments.
Ability to operate and troubleshoot equipment involved in testing.
Strong organizational, analytical, problem solving and decision making skills are required.
Demonstrated knowledge and skill in general laboratory practice is required.
The ability to function as part of a lab team.
Rotating shift work is involved.
Demonstrated regular attendance is required.
