The LSS will be part of the Talent Development and Learning Team for EY Canada and will contribute to the extended team in addition to service line-specific projects. The Learning Services Specialist (LSS) is involved in the deployment, planning and delivery of service line and sub-service line key learning initiatives. The incumbent in this role promotes overall synergies with the firm’s learning strategies, and ensures that duplication of learning development efforts is avoided. The incumbent in this role needs to be able to work very independently while collaborating with team members on a regular basis.
This role works with and reports to the Learning Leader to create deployment plans that forecast the number and location of classes/webcasts/eLearnings, identify target learners, outline communication needs, and prepare and assign instructors. A successful candidate will have strong project management skills and learning operations oversight experience.
Overtime is likely required near project deadlines and if events are being coordinated.
This role also collaborates with Learning Coordinators and Specialists on the logistical planning of training events and off-site accommodations and management of on-site support staff.
Your key responsibilities
Supports the Learning Leader by working with Sub-Service Lines to determine training needs and identify target learners
Manages calendaring of learning events
Supervises the learning coordinator in monitoring class consumption and follow up
Manages webcast schedule and recording of live sessions where applicable
Summarizes and reviews consumption reports generated by Learning Coordinators with stakeholders
Demonstrates creative thinking and develops innovative solutions to address the learning needs of the business
Possesses strong vendor management skills working closely with providers of technical learning
Confirms instructor availability and schedule accordingly
Drafts and send leader communications
Curates content to provide to instructors and participants.
Participates in Train the Trainer and Facilitator Preparation meetings as required
Available and accessible to instructor for troubleshooting and support prior to, during, and after class
Teaming and supervision
Collaborates with the Learning Coordinators on the logistical planning and delivery of virtual and classroom events
Reviews participant communications and lists generated by the Learning Coordinators and GDS as necessary
Ensures learning databases are maintained through the Learning Coordinators
Collaborates with Resource Management and HR on a routine basis
Receives general supervision and frequently works on projects with only periodic updates to Learning Leader
Reporting and compliance
Compiles and summarize learning reports, including Continuing Education (CE) credits and follows up as needed
Manages BRET submissions
Reviews invoices and ensures accuracy of coding before sending for approvals and payment
Assists with annual budget planning
Monitors program budgets on an ongoing basis
Works with Learning Coordinators on invoice payment and coding

To qualify for the role you must have
Demonstrated ability and confidence working with technology and learning new software
Strong project management skills, able to coordinate multiple projects/initiatives simultaneously and meet demanding time frames
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with multiple groups across learning and the business
Knowledge of learning systems, basic measurement and process improvement preferred
Proficient in advanced capabilities in Excel and PowerPoint (use of pivot tables and v-lookup is a must)
Strong attention to detail
Strong coaching, consulting and facilitation skills
Ability to support and lead change
Ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
