We are hiring for an accounting/administrative assistant to maintain our financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts and payments.

The accounting position creates financial transactions and financial reports from that information. The creation of financial transactions includes posting information to accounting software from such source documents as invoices to customers, cash receipts, and supplier invoices. This also includes reconciling accounts to ensure accuracy.

Accountabilities:

  • Pay supplier invoices in a timely manner
  • Take all reasonable discounts on supplier invoices
  • Pay any debt/invoices as it comes due for payment
  • Issue invoices to customers
  • Weekly Accounts Receivable Collection calls to overdue customer accounts
  • Collect sales taxes from customers and remit them to the government
  • Ensure that receivables are collected promptly
  • Record cash receipts and make bank deposits
  • Conduct a monthly reconciliation of every bank account
  • Conduct periodic reconciliations of all accounts to ensure their accuracy
  • Provide information to the external accountant who creates the company‚Äôs financial statements
  • Calculate and issue internal financial analysis of the financial statements
  • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
  • Maintain the chart of accounts
  • Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
  • Comply with local, provincial and federal government reporting requirements
  • Process payroll/Consulting payments
  • Provide clerical and administrative support to management as required
  • Purchase supplies and equipment as authorized by management
  • Monitor office supply levels and reorder as necessary
  • Tag and monitor fixed assets

Desired Qualifications:

The candidate must have experience in accounting and/or business administration, and knowledge of bookkeeping and generally accepted accounting principles. Must have strong experience with Quickbooks Online (QBO), Microsoft Office Applications, and attention to detail in a fast paced technology company

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
