This role assists the Portfolio Manager with the development and execution of marketing programs specific to a portfolio of brands. This role interfaces with provincial sales teams and suppliers on market visits, sales meetings, and business reviews.
Duties and Responsibilities
Work closely with the National Portfolio Manager and key suppliers to develop, execute and analyze marketing promotional plans for the assigned brands
Monitor marketing calendars nationally and work with regional Key Account Managers to review implementation of marketing programs. Identify market opportunities/potential issues and recommend solutions, providing updates to the National Portfolio Manager and suppliers as requested
Monitor deadlines for marketing submissions and tender applications nationally, preparing product information for applications/submissions in
advance of deadlines
Assist with the development, sourcing, and delivery of sales tools required for execution of national marketing programs
Analyze brand performance by market and supplier on a monthly basis and report findings to Portfolio Manager and Director of Marketing.
Assist the National Portfolio Manager in developing actions plan to address any areas of concern
Monitor budgets on monthly basis to track versus plan, notify Portfolio Manager of potential risks, and over/underspends.
Maintain regular contact with sales teams, suppliers and key customers - provides resources and answers questions
Investigate supplier issues, concerns, and/or complaints related to assigned brands
Assist the National Portfolio Manager during supplier meetings, helping to address performance against plan, effectiveness of pricing, promotional strategies and success of new item launches.
Coordinate and participate in market visits and surveys with suppliers for assigned brands
Work closely with the regional sales teams to assist in the coordination and preparation of various trade shows, tastings, and events.
Performs other related duties and tasks as assigned
Associate’s degree and/or some College
1-2 years related experience and/or training in Marketing, Sales and/or Business Management
Additional Desired Qualifications
2-3 years alcoholic beverage industry experience with a Bachelor’s degree
Proven track record in managing simultaneous projects from conception through to completion
Strong communication skills – verbal, presentation, and writing
Detail oriented, and organized
Extensive knowledge of MS Office Suites and/or software (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite)
Flexibility to Travel
Valid driver’s license
Willing to work outside traditional hours/days on occasion
Physical demands with activity or condition existing a considerable amount of time include sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer (i.e., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) or calculator
Physical demands may include walking, carrying, reaching, standing, and stooping
May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, or pulling up to 40 pound cases
