To support us on our journey, Sinai Health System is looking for an Academic Affairs Coordinator to support our Interprofessional Education department.

Job Outline:
The Academic Affairs Coordinator will coordinate high quality clinical education for health disciplines, medical and nursing learners based on identified needs and best practices that promote excellence in clinical education, and foster Interprofessional Education (IPE) at the Sinai Health System (Bridgepoint Active Healthcare site).

The Academic Affairs Coordinator provides administrative and organizational support and coordination of office functions to ensure a high functioning academic centre for clinical student education at Bridgepoint Active Healthcare. The incumbent will co-ordinate and manage individual projects, workshops and seminars; assist in providing orientation; coordinate activities related to student onboarding and academic affairs; will work with students, staff and physicians within Bridgepoint and/or other hospitals to facilitate and support these activities.

The Academic Affairs Coordinator supports student education at Bridgepoint by:

Maintaining excellent open and professional communication with all students and staff
Assisting in the orientation and on boarding of students
Scheduling meetings and appointments, preparing agendas, coordinating material for distribution and taking minutes of meetings, as required
Organizing workshops and presentations for the IPE Lead and clinical supervisors
Working to ensure that the databases of students and supervisors (e.g. tracking and managing data, number of hours per student, number of students per day, location, etc.) are up to date and accurate
Working to ensure that calendars and activities to support IPE sessions and other educational sessions for student groups are up to date and are circulated to appropriate individuals
Preparing handouts for distribution, ordering and booking equipment, and assisting team members with the operation of equipment as needed
Preparing and assisting with general correspondence, conducting telephone follow up and general office duties (photocopying, printing arrangements, courier service, mail, e-mail correspondence)
Performing other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:
Post-secondary degree (or diploma in a discipline that supports this role)
Minimum of 3 years’ experience preferred in a health care or health professional education setting; advanced computer proficiency
Proficient in computer applications including Word, Excel, Power Point, Adobe Acrobat at an advanced level, and proficient with Internet
Excellent interpersonal skills, self-directed, detail oriented, reliable and dependable
Demonstrated initiative and ability to handle multiple tasks and be able to juggle schedule accordingly
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be flexible, co-operative and a team player
Conversant in various tools for management, project planning, and time tracking, e.g. MS Project, MS Excel, and MS Visio
Detail oriented with excellent analytical and problem solving skills, including the ability to deal with situations where information is difficult to obtain, complex, or ambiguous
Strong facilitation, negotiation and conflict management resolution skills
