AECOM is seeking a Mechanical Planner to join our team at our IOL Kearl Project, Alberta. This is a full time position on a 10 day on, 10 day off rotation.
Responsible for supporting project or proposal planning and scheduling activities including engineering, materials management, construction, start up and operations. Provide the tools and systems necessary to effectively and proactively manage, control, and report on cost and schedule.
+ Under general supervision, executes front/end or field execution Workface Planning activities for a single construction discipline.
+ Collaboratively works within the Workface Planning team and with Construction and other Project Functions.
+ Able to work as the sole Workface Planner for a single or multiple disciplines.
+ Responsible for supervising and directing Workface Planning activities during the front/end and field execution phase for a single or multiple construction disciplines.
+ Trains to the project’s Workface Planning procedure to Construction and other Project Functions.
+ Identify and track all changes or potential changes to the project scope, ensuring estimates of cost changes and schedule impact are given visibility with the client and project management.
+ Integrate cost and schedule data and reporting with the company’s accounting and management information systems to facilitate meeting company performance and financial goals.
+ Knowledge of planning and scheduling concepts and principles including effects on financial performance.
+ Familiar with data sources and supports basic schedule development.
+ Support analysis of schedule, identify and investigate project schedule variances.
+ Collect and update data and updates and produces scheduling reports.
+ Assist in the development and maintenance of WBS and support activities to implement applicable coding. Supports basic schedule development.
+ Support gathering and assembling data for schedule updating.
+ Support measurement of project schedule progress and gathers and assembles data for schedule and network updating.
+ Gather data for schedule baseline development and maintenance.
+ Familiar with construction drawings, specifications and construction contracting methods.
+ Understands CPM scheduling concepts and principles and able to develop basic engineering, procurement and construction logic.
+ Understands concepts and principles of scope control and change management and earned value methodology.
+ Support monthly report preparation.
+ May participate in planning and scheduling meetings to gain insight to planning and scheduling issues.
+ Exposure to basic scheduling and cost baseline fundamentals, concepts and principles.

+ Bachelor’s degree + 4 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and / or education
+ Computer proficiency – Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook
+ Construction Safety Training Systems - 09 (CSTS-09)
+ H2S Alive Ticket
+ First Aid - Standard Level Certification
+ This position will be required to drive a vehicle on behalf of AECOM and therefore will require the candidate to submit a satisfactory driver's abstract for review.
