SUMMARY OF POSITION:
This leadership role reports directly to the Country General Manager. The Director, Marketing & Sales Strategy BCC, is directly responsible for the overall Canadian brand health and financial delivery for the iconic Huggies®, Pull-Ups® and GoodNites® brands, the largest business in Canada, accounting for over 50% of NS and OP. Leading Brand Management, Sales Strategy, and Insights functions, accountabilities within this role span strategy, planning and execution. Key deliverables include: long term strategic brand plans; category vision and strategies; brand marketing plans including creative and annual business plans. The incumbent has direct, full P&L accountability for the sector of brands within their accountability and leads a cross functional team that “runs the business” to deliver brand and financial objectives.

ORGANIZATION:
Leads an integrated marketing team of 11, spanning Marketing, Sales Strategy and Insights roles with additional dotted line direction for Finance
Works with Customer Development leaders to ensure brand and category strategies and plans are executed effectively and efficiently with the Customer Development Teams
Engages with key retailers in Innovation Summits and other key meetings to provide a visible brand and category champion
Works with communications agencies, including advertising, media, digital, multi-cultural, shopper and PR
Liaises with global and U.S. Marketing Leaders to drive synergies and share best practices

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leads the delivery of the multi-year Strategic Business Plan for the brands by ensuring delivery of brand health and financial commitments
Leads annual Canadian sector and brand business and marketing plans that deliver financial objectives (P&L) and manages all elements of the marketing mix
Stewards the brand – guides and instills in the organization the ability to be selective about actions that support the brand strategy, brand’s promise, brand equity, and brand health in context of overall business goals for the company
Ensures the Canadian consumer is at the centre of business and brand decisions
Ensures Canadian Brand Idea (campaigns) creative and execution aligns with the Canadian consumer and Canadian business objectives
Defines brand positioning and liaises with the U.S. and global brand teams to ensure alignment with global brand profile and strategy
Creates clarity and direction to unlock sector and brand opportunities for growth
Defines and executes the commercialization strategies including the development of net revenue plans including pricing, margin mix, and trade spending strategies
Provides strategic direction and influences the customer facing organization to ensure brand and category strategies and plans are effectively executed, and to ensure the delivery of brand objectives
Attracts, retains and develops top talent

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (Education; Experience & Critical Skills/Competencies):

Undergraduate degree in Marketing or related field
Minimum of 10+ years of business experience with a history or demonstrated business success;
Specific marketing and brand building expertise including experience in communication/campaign development, new product development, insight development and experience in working directly and indirectly with major customers;
Extensive knowledge of the CPG industry;
Demonstrates dynamic team leadership and ability to coach to build talent and lead through others;
Full P&L management;
Creative development and agency relationship stewardship and management;
Strategic Agility: Anticipate future consequences and trends accurately and create competitive and breakthrough strategies and plans
Innovation Management: Identify and bring ideas to the market by effectively managing the creative and implementation process.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduate degree in Marketing/Business Administration or MBA
Experience driving organizational change
Extensive knowledge of the CPG industry, the Canadian consumer and retailer dynamics;
